Background: Previous studies have reported a close relationship between body mass index (BMI) and bone mineral density (BMD). However, the effects of fat on bone mass remain controversial, particularly for fat tissue distribution. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between regional fat percentage and BMD using a population-based database.

Introduction: Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) abdomen and pelvis is a common imaging procedure. Hospitals typically follow fixed protocols of contrast volume administration for triple-phase CECT abdomen and pelvis scans and have found that patients are either underdosed or overdosed with respect to their body habitus. The aim of the study was to correlate different patient characteristics such as Total body weight (TBW), Lean Body Mass (LBM), Body Mass Index (BMI), Body Surface Area (BSA) and Blood Volume (BV) with aortic enhancement in the arterial and portal venous phases for CECT Abdomen and pelvis.

Background: To compare various lower pole pelvicalyceal anatomical factors of stone bearing kidney with contralateral normal kidneys and determine whether these factors predispose to stone formation in one kidney.
Methods: A descriptive study was done with Computed Tomography of 54 patients with solitary lower pole calculus in one kidney and normal contralateral kidney were included. Various lower pole pelvicalyceal anatomical factors like infundibulopelvic angle, infundibular width, infundibular length and calyceopelvic height of both stone bearing and contralateral kidneys were measured and compared for any differences Results: The mean infundibular width was 5.

In cases of traumatic deaths, accurate assessment of injuries is essential for both legal and medical purposes. This case report compares the findings of post-mortem computed tomography with conventional autopsy methods in assessing abdominal stab wounds. A 34-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds in the abdomen underwent post-mortem examination, including computed tomography imaging.

Non-albicans (NAC) species are increasingly recognized as significant contributors to candidemia infections; however, relatively less is known about the immune responses induced by these species. In this study, we compared the cytokine production ability of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) upon stimulation with different species ( spp.).

Background: Spinal arteriovenous shunts and spinal dysraphism both have a different underlying cause, disease spectrum and developmental process; hence, these entities rarely coexist in a patient. Here, we reported four cases of coexistence of adult-onset spinal arteriovenous shunt and spinal dysraphism in the same patient along with their therapeutic embolisation. Additionally, we conducted an extensive literature review to explore the potential theories and explanations for this coexistence.

Genitourinary fistulas are a well-recognized complication of various gynecological, obstetrical, and endourological interventions. The incidence of uretero-uterine fistula is very rare compared to other genitourinary fistulas. Few cases are reported in literature regarding the uretero- uterine fistula following manual vacuum aspiration of retained product of placenta.

The lung is the most common site of metastases in the case of phyllodes tumor of the breast followed by bone. However, pneumothorax as a presenting complaint in a patient of bilateral cavitating lung metastases from malignant phyllodes tumor of the breast has never been reported to our knowledge. We herein report a case of a 34-year-old female presenting with sudden onset of chest pain in already existing lung metastases who on imaging showed the development of bilateral pneumothorax.

Urachal adenocarcinoma is an unusual and aggressive form of bladder cancer that arises from urachus, a midline fibrous remnant of allantois. Experience with diagnosing them is limited and differentiating urachal adenocarcinoma from other urachal pathologies like infected urachal cysts may be difficult at times. Differentials of urachal anomalies can be narrowed down by proper assessment of patient demographics, clinical details, lesion morphology, and imaging findings.

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare clonal neoplasm derived from Langerhans-type cells that express CD 1a, langerin, and S 100 on immunohistochemistry. LCH usually involves multiple sites and multiple systems or multiple sites in a single system. Solitary LCH commonly involves the bones (especially the skull), lymph nodes, skin, and lungs.

Objectives: Patients undergoing medical procedures often experience heightened anxiety, which can affect their experience and overall health. The current study aimed at looking at a quality improvement initiative to compare written and audiovisual information delivery methods to reduce anxiety prior to Computed Tomography (CT).
Methods: In this prospective interventional study, we assessed state and trait anxiety in patients scheduled for their first CT scan.

Pediatric pneumonia is a common respiratory infection that affects children and is thought to be a major source of mortality and morbidity worldwide, particularly in low- and middle-income nations. Toll-like receptor2 (TLR2) is an important receptor involved in the recognition of bacterial pathogens and the activation of the immune response. Genetic variability in TLR2 may partially explain individual differences in susceptibility to infections.

Ovarian lymphangiomas are rare benign neoplasms characterized by the proliferation of lymphatic vessels within the ovarian tissue. While lymphangiomas can manifest in various anatomical locations, their occurrence within the ovaries is exceptionally uncommon, posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges for clinicians. The aetiology of ovarian lymphangiomas remains elusive, with theories suggesting congenital malformations, lymphatic obstruction, or acquired lymphatic proliferation as potential contributing factors.

Background: Non-contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) plays a pivotal role in assessing central nervous system disorders and is a crucial diagnostic method. Iterative reconstruction (IR) methods have enhanced image quality (IQ) but may result in a blotchy appearance and decreased resolution for subtle contrasts. The deep-learning image reconstruction (DLIR) algorithm, which integrates a convolutional neural network (CNN) into the reconstruction process, generates high-quality images with minimal noise.

Background: Recent innovations are making radiology more advanced for patient and patient services. Under the immense burden of radiology practice, Artificial Intelligence (AI) assists in obtaining Computed Tomography (CT) images with less scan time, proper patient placement, low radiation dose (RD), and improved image quality (IQ). Hence, the aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the positioning accuracy, RD, and IQ of AI-based automatic and manual positioning techniques for CT kidney ureters and bladder (CT KUB).

Background: Exosomes are the smallest extracellular vesicles (30-150 nm) secreted by all cell types, including synovial fluid. However, because biological fluids are complex, heterogeneous, and contain contaminants, their isolation is difficult and time-consuming. Furthermore, the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis (OA) involves exosomes carrying complex components that cause macrophages to release chemokines and proinflammatory cytokines.

Intestinal obstruction is a common surgical emergency with high morbidity and mortality. Patients presenting with features of small bowel obstruction need urgent evaluation to avoid complications such as bowel gangrene, perforation, or peritonitis. Imaging is necessary in most cases of suspected bowel obstruction, to take an appropriate decision, for apt patient management.
