Background: Pancreatic Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) allows for the administration of a higher biologically effective doses (BED), that would be essential to achieve durable tumor control. Escalating treatment doses need a very accurate tumor positioning and motion control during radiotherapy. The aim of this study to assess the feasibility and safety of a Simultaneous Integrated Boost (SIB) dose-escalated protocol at 45 Gy, 50 Gy and 55 Gy in 5 consecutive daily fractions, in Border Line Resectable Pancreatic Cancer (BRCP) /Locally Advanced Pancreatic Cancer (LAPC) by means of a standard LINAC platform.

Background And Purpose: To determine the potential prognostic value of proliferation and angiogenesis plasma proteins following CT-guided high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR-BT) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Materials And Methods: For this prospective study, HDR-BT (1 × 15 Gy) was administered to 24 HCC patients. Plasma was obtained and analyzed using an Olink proteomics Target-96 immuno-oncology-panel that included multiple markers of angiogenesis and proliferation.

Research in the field of local and locoregional breast cancer radiotherapy aims to maintain excellent oncological outcomes while reducing treatment-related toxicity. Adaptive radiotherapy (ART) considers variations in target and organs at risk (OARs) anatomy occurring during the treatment course and integrates these in re-optimized treatment plans. Exploiting ART routinely in clinic may result in smaller target volumes and better OAR sparing, which may lead to reduction of acute as well as late toxicities.

High-flow oxygen via nasal canula is one therapeutic option which may in certain cases prevent the need of mechanical ventilation. The aim of this review is to summarize the current evidence on the use of high-flow nasal oxygen in patients with severe SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Objectives: The COVID-19 pandemic bears the risk of delayed cancer diagnoses.
Methods: Study on the diagnostic pathway of sinonasal malignancies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Results: Median time from first symptom to treatment initiation was not increased during the pandemic: 137 days (interquartile range [IQR] 104-193) vs 139 days (IQR 103-219) ( = .

MR Imaging is regarded asthe gold standardfor Image Gudied Adaptive Brachytherapy (IGABT) for cervical cancer. However, its wide applicability is limited by its availability, logistics and financial implications. Use of alternative imaging like CTand Ultrasound (US) for IGABT has been attempted.

The MabThera and Involved field Radiotherapy study investigated efficacy and safety of involved field (IF) radiotherapy in combination with the anti-CD20 antibody Rituximab for early-stage follicular lymphoma (FL) in a prospective, single-arm multicenter phase 2 design. Eighty-five stage I-II FL patients received 8 cycles of Rituximab (375 mg/m) and IF irradiation (30/40 Gy). The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS) 2 years from treatment start.

Introduction: Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) include a wide range of products (herbs, vitamins, minerals, and probiotics) and medical practices, developed outside of the mainstream Western medicine. Patients with cancer are more likely to resort to CAM first or then in their disease history; the potential side effects as well as the costs of such practices are largely underestimated.
Patients And Method: We conducted a descriptive survey in five Italian hospitals involving 468 patients with different malignancies.

Background: Palliative radiotherapy is often required for patients with metastatic malignant melanoma in the case of bone or brain metastases. Since BRAF inhibitor therapy is highly efficient in V600-mutated melanomas, there is hesitation to stop it during radiotherapy. Consequently, radiotherapy under simultaneous vemurafenib treatment is frequently needed.

This paper proposes the Clinical Pathway Analysis Method (CPAM) approach that enables the extraction of valuable organisational and medical information on past clinical pathway executions from the event logs of healthcare information systems. The method deals with the complexity of real-world clinical pathways by introducing a perspective-based segmentation of the date-stamped event log. CPAM enables the clinical pathway analyst to effectively and efficiently acquire a profound insight into the clinical pathways.

Methods: We have treated 75 patients (34 lung and 41 liver) with Novalis LINAC SBRT Adaptive Gating Technique. A total of 130 lesions, 49 lung lesions (11 primary NSCLC and 38 metastases) and 81 liver lesions (10 primary and 71 metastases).

Purpose: To retrospectively analyze patient characteristics, treatment, and treatment outcome of pediatric patients with hematologic diseases treated with total body irradiation (TBI) between 1978 and 2006.
Patients And Methods: 32 pediatric patients were referred to the Department of Radiation-Oncology at the University of Zurich for TBI. Records of regular follow-up of 28 patients were available for review.
Purpose: Patients with anaplastic gliomas have a more favorable overall survival than patients with glioblastomas. In most analyses, WHO grade III and 1V tumors are not analyzed separately. The present analysis reports outcome after postoperative radiotherapy in patients with WHO grade III gliomas.
