Background And Aim: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is commonly used to diagnose and treat bile duct and pancreatic disorders. Successful cannulation of the papilla is crucial for the effectiveness of ERCP; however, sometimes, it can be challenging to achieve. This study explores the relationship between net difficult ERCP cannulation with bile visibility, papilla orifice visibility, and papilla position and compares it with successful cannulation.

The objective of this study was to develop nanotechnology-mediated paclitaxel (PAC) and curcumin (CUR) co-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (PAC-CUR-SLNs) for the treatment of lung cancer, which is a leading cause of death worldwide. Around 85 % cases of lungs cancer constitute non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). PAC-CUR-SLNs were prepared via high pressure homogenization.

Article Synopsis
  • Migraine is a neurological condition that can cause nausea and vomiting, and traditional treatments like sumatriptan (SUT) have limitations due to issues with absorption and effectiveness.
  • Researchers developed a new delivery method using SUT loaded nano-ethosomes (SUT-NEs) combined with a chitosan-based mucoadhesive gel (SUT-NEsG) for intranasal application, enhancing drug properties and efficacy.
  • Studies showed that SUT-NEsG improves drug absorption in the brain and effectiveness in migraine models, indicating it could be a promising treatment option compared to standard oral doses.

Article Synopsis
  • Updated data on chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) are essential for preventing and controlling these conditions as part of achieving the UN's goal of reducing premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by 2030.
  • From 1990 to 2019, global, regional, and national estimates were analyzed for various CRDs, including COPD and asthma, to assess their impact on mortality, disability, and overall prevalence.
  • In 2019, CRDs resulted in 4 million deaths and 454.6 million cases worldwide, with conditions like COPD being the leading cause of death among CRDs, despite a decline in age-standardized rates for most diseases over the period analyzed.

Current treatment options for cutaneous leishmaniasis are associated with myriad limiting factors including low penetration, poor efficacy, and drug toxicities. Herein, we reported imiquimod and terbinafine co-loaded mannosylated transethosomes (IMQ-TER-MTES) with enhanced cutaneous retention, macrophage targeting, anti-leishmanial potential, and dermal immunomodulation. IMQ-TER-MTES were optimized using Design Expert® followed by their loading into chitosan gel.

Background: Medication errors in chemotherapy are frequent and lead to patient morbidity and mortality, as well as increased rates of re-admission and length of stay, and considerable extra costs. Objective: This study investigated the proposition that computerised chemotherapy ordering reduces the incidence and severity of chemotherapy protocol errors.

Method: A computerised physician order entry of chemotherapy order (C-CO) with clinical decision support system was developed in-house, including standardised chemotherapy protocol definitions, automation of pharmacy distribution, clinical checks, labeling and invoicing.
