KGF, also known as FGF7, is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family that binds with high affinity to the FGF receptor 2b (FGFR2b) and regulates various cellular processes, including cell proliferation and differentiation in a variety of tumors. However, its potential role in hypopharyngeal cancer (HPC) remains largely unknown. In our study, we observed increased expression of FGFR2b in HPC.

Background: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), a highly invasive malignancy with a poor prognosis, is one of the most common cancers globally. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have become key regulators of human malignancies, but further studies are necessary to fully understand their functions and possible causes in HNSCC.
Methods: CircCCT2 expression levels in HNSCC tissues and cells were measured via qPCR.

Folates play a crucial role as cofactors in metabolic pathways, influencing biological methylation and nucleotide synthesis, which has a significant impact on overall health and disease susceptibility. Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a prevalent and severe complication of diabetes mellitus (DM). The correlation between RBC folate and DN remains unclear currently.

PRF1 (perforin 1) is a key cytotoxic molecule that plays a crucial role in the killing function of natural killer (NK) cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Recent studies have focused on PRF1's role in cancer development, progression, and prognosis. Studies have shown that aberrant PRF1 expression has a significant role to play in cancer development and progression.

The purpose of this study is to explore the expression of prostacyclin receptor(IP) in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS) and its possible association with type 2 inflammation. HE staining was used to observe the morphological changes of nasal mucosa, qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression of IP in polyps and nasal mucosa, and IHC was used to detect the expression of IP, IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13 in polyps and nasal mucosa. Compared with the control group, the nasal mucosa of patients with various types of CRS was obviously thickened, accompanied by inflammatory cell infiltration and gland hyperplasia.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) represents the predominant malignancies in the head and neck region, and has limited therapeutic alternatives. Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a substantial category of non-coding RNA molecules, exert influential roles in human disease development and progression, employing various mechanisms such as microRNA sponging, interaction with RNA-binding proteins, and translational capabilities. Accumulating evidence highlights the differential expression of numerous circRNAs in HNSCC, and numerous dysregulated circRNAs underscore their crucial involvement in malignant advancement and resistance to treatment.

Chemokines, cytokines, and inflammatory cells mediate the onset and progression of many diseases through the induction of an inflammatory response. LncRNAs have emerged as important regulators of gene expression and signaling pathways. Increasing evidence suggests that lncRNAs are key players in the inflammatory response, making it a potential therapeutic target for various diseases.

Activins are members of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily and act as key regulators in various physiological processes, such as follicle and embryonic development, as well as in multiple human diseases, including cancer. They have been established to signal through three type I and two type II serine/threonine kinase receptors, which, upon ligand binding, form a final signal-transducing receptor complex that activates downstream signaling and governs gene expression. Recent research highlighted the dysregulation of the expression or activity of activin receptors in multiple human cancers and their critical involvement in cancer progression.
