Purpose: The primary aim of this study is to determine the rectus abdominis tendon (RAT) insertional anatomy and consequently clarify the extension of secure mobilization of the tendon from the pubic bone in the setting of anterior approaches in pelvic and acetabular reconstruction surgery.

Materials And Methods: Eleven fresh frozen cadaveric pelvises were dissected by two fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeons utilizing the anterior intrapelvic approach (AIP). The RAT at the pubic body was dissected, and its footprint on the pubic bone was defined, marked, and measured.

Summary Of Background Data: While lumbar microdiskectomy is a widely used and well-studied procedure, there is lack of evidence on the postoperative prevalence and schedule of return to work after this type of surgery.

Four-Week Outcomes of Transforaminal Epidural Injections in Patients With Lumbar Radicular Pain.

Background Lumbar radicular pain occurs due to irritation or compression of the nerve roots in the lower back. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of transforaminal epidural steroid injections (TFESIs) in reducing pain and improving functional outcomes in a diverse patient population with lumbar radicular pain. Methodology This quasi-experimental trial was performed at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Unit 1, Mayo Hospital, Lahore, from October 2021 to September 2022.

Arthroscopic debridement followed by intra-articular injection of micro-fragmented adipose tissue in patients affected by knee osteoarthritis: Clinical results up to 48 months from a prospective clinical study.

Purpose: Micro-fragmented adipose tissue is emerging as a promising option for the treatment of various diseases including knee osteoarthritis (OA), though clinical trials are often limited by short follow-up periods. Our aim was to evaluate the safety and clinical outcomes of an arthroscopic debridement followed by a single injection of micro-fragmented adipose tissue in patients affected by knee OA.

Methods: From 2016 to 2020, patients affected by knee OA were enroled.

Approximately one in five patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has disease-onset during childhood (cSLE). Lupus nephritis is more common in cSLE than adult-onset SLE and is associated with significant and increased morbidity and mortality. In this article, we review lupus nephritis in cSLE, including pathogenesis, diagnosis, biomarkers, and management through PUBMED search between July and December 2024.

SPC25 expression in LUAD was examined using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, and RT-qPCR was used to confirm the results.

Five-Year Impact of Weight Loss on Knee Pain and Quality of Life in Obese Patients.

BACKGROUND Studies on patients with obesity who lose a considerable amount of body fat show that the severity of knee pain and movement limitation is decreased. This study aimed to analyze the effects of weight loss on knee pain and quality of life in patients with obesity. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study included patients aged 18-65 years with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² and above, who expressed knee pain in daily life routines and applied to the Obesity Center of Adana City Training and Research Hospital as of June 2018.

Fibrotic remodeling of nucleus pulposus (NP) leads to structural and mechanical anomalies of intervertebral discs that prone to degeneration, leading to low back pain incidence and disability. Emergence of fibroblastic cells in disc degeneration has been reported, yet their nature and origin remain elusive. In this study, we performed an integrative analysis of multiple single-cell RNA sequencing datasets to interrogate the cellular heterogeneity and fibroblast-like entities in degenerative human NP specimens.

An alternative fixation for all mild and moderate hallux valgus cases enabling intraoperative readjustment.

Background: The development of a cost-effective and easily applicable fixation method to address all components of hallux valgus (HV) surgery is of great importance to the field. This study aims to assess the clinical efficacy of an  alternative fixation method that combines the advantages aspects of commonly used distal osteotomy techniques and evaluate its level of applicability in the treatment of mild and moderate HV cases.

Background: This study aims to automate the measurement process of posterior condylar offset ratio (PCOR) and anterior condylar offset ratio (ACOR) to improve the Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) evaluation. Accurate calculation of PCOR and ACOR, performed manually by orthopedic surgeons, is crucial for assessing postoperative range of motion and implant positioning. Manual measurements, however, are time-consuming, prone to human error, and subject to variability.

The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a readily accessible surrogate biomarker for insulin resistance and metabolic health, has been extensively investigated across various ethnic populations. The critical role of physical activity (PA) in enhancing insulin sensitivity has been corroborated by numerous studies. Nonetheless, the relationship between different patterns of PA and the TyG index remains ambiguous.

Assessment of chronic ankle instability: are functional scores relevant enough?

Introduction: A poorly treated acute ankle sprain can rapidly progress to chronic instability, with varying degrees of disability secondary to weakness of the ankle stabilizers. The aim of our study was to evaluate functional scores and physical tests in the assessment of eversion and proprioception deficits after non-surgical treatment of chronic ankle instability. Our hypothesis was that these functional scores and physical tests are suitable and sufficient for assessing the functional aspect of an unstable ankle.
