Screening a Resource of Recombinant Protein Fragments for Targeted Proteomics.

The availability of proteomics resources hosting protein and peptide standards, as well as the data describing their analytical performances, will continue to enhance our current capabilities to develop targeted proteomics methods for quantitative biology. This study describes the analysis of a resource of 26,840 individually purified recombinant protein fragments corresponding to more than 16,000 human protein-coding genes. The resource was screened to identify proteotypic peptides suitable for targeted proteomics efforts, and we report LC-MS/MS assay coordinates for more than 25,000 proteotypic peptides, corresponding to more than 10,000 unique proteins.

Over 50 million people have been displaced, some as a result of conflict, which exposure can lead to psychiatric sequelae. The aims of this study were to provide estimates of pre-emigration trauma, post-migration stress, and psychological sequelae of immigrants and refugees from predominantly Sub-Saharan Africa who immigrated to Sweden. We also examined the predictors of the psychiatric sequelae as well as acculturation within the host country.

Opiomelanocortins are formed after cleavage of the larger precursor molecule, proopiomelanocortin (POMC), which contains several peptide residues, sharing certain amino acid homology, including adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) and alpha-, beta- and gamma-melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH). The expressions of alpha-, beta- and gamma 3-MSH in human cutaneous malignant melanoma of nodular type are demonstrated. For the MSHs, the immunolabelling was concentrated mostly in the tumour cellular cytoplasm, with occasional cells displaying a nuclear staining.

Unexpected ventral and dorsal perturbations and expected, self-induced ventral perturbations were delivered to the trunk by suddenly loading a vest strapped to the torso. Six male subjects were measured for intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) and intra-muscular electromyography of the transversus abdominis (TrA), obliquus internus abdominis (OI), obliquus externus abdominis (OE) and rectus abdominis (RA) muscles. Erector spinae (ES) activity was recorded using surface electromyography.
