Background: This study investigates clinical and biomarker differences between standard interval dosing (SID) and extended interval dosing (EID) of ocrelizumab therapy in multiple sclerosis (MS).
Methods: This is a prospective, double-arm, open-label, multi-center study in Denmark. Participants diagnosed with MS on ocrelizumab therapy >12 months were included ( = 184).

View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: In Denmark's five regions, there is potential inequality in access to device-aided therapy (DAT) for Parkinson's disease (PD) based on structural or socioeconomic factors. It is unclear how long DAT is maintained and affects concomitant medication.
Objectives: To investigate access to DAT by comparing the proportion of patients with DBS, subcutaneous apomorphine infusion (SCAI), or levodopa/carbidopa intestinal gel (LCIG) in Danish regions 2008-2016 and describe demographics of patients, changes in use of comedication, and maintenance of DAT.
Introduction: Cardiovascular disease increases the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD), and growing evidence suggests an involvement of cerebrovascular pathology in AD. Capillary dysfunction, a condition in which capillary flow disturbances rather than arterial blood supply limit brain oxygen extraction, could represent an overlooked vascular contributor to neurodegeneration. We examined whether cortical capillary transit-time heterogeneity (CTH), an index of capillary dysfunction, is elevated in amyloid-positive patients with mild cognitive impairment (prodromal AD [pAD]).

Objective: To assess the resources available in the provision of epilepsy care across Europe and the developments since the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) survey published in 2003 (data collected in 2000).
Methods: An updated online version of the European Epilepsy Services Inventory was distributed to all European chapters of the ILAE (N = 47) and responses were obtained from 33 chapters (response rate 70%). To assess trends and allow comparisons with the survey published in 2003, the responding countries were divided into 4 groups (Western, Central, Southern, and Eastern).
Deep Brain Stimulation requires extensive postoperative testing of stimulation parameters to achieve optimal outcomes. Testing is typically not guided by neuroanatomical information on electrode contact locations. To address this, we present an automated reconstruction of electrode locations relative to the treatment target, the subthalamic nucleus, comparing different targeting methods: atlas-, manual-, or tractography-based subthalamic nucleus segmentation.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: This study aimed to examine the levels of the macrophage marker sCD163 and other biomarkers at the time of diagnosis of patients with either clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) or relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), and assess relation to clinical indicators of prognosis, disease activity (DA), and changes in the levels of these biomarkers at follow-up.
Materials And Methods: The clinical status and MRI were reevaluated in 56 patients more than 1 year after diagnosis with a median follow-up time of 2 years. Levels of biomarkers in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.
