Myeloid sarcoma presenting as fingertip necrosis with underlying suppurative tenosynovitis: A case report.

We report an unusual case presentation of a patient with necrotic tissue changes of the right second and third fingers, found to have myeloid sarcoma with -positive tenosynovitis and underlying acute myeloid leukemia, to highlight the importance of comprehensive evaluation in patients with atypical wounds.

Esophageal squamous papilloma: Literature review and case-control retrospective study with histopathological exam of human papillomavirus.

Background And Aim: Esophageal squamous papilloma (ESP) is a benign growth in the esophagus with unknown malignant potential. The mechanism underlying ESP formation is unknown, but human papillomavirus (HPV) infection has been proposed as a potential etiology. We sought to investigate the clinical characteristic of ESP in our population, review the current literature, and highlight the role of HPV.

Treatment of refractory delayed onset heparin-induced thrombocytopenia after thoracic endovascular aortic repair with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG).

Delayed onset heparin induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), is characterized by a late nadir due to persistent platelet-activating IgG antibodies. It typically begins or worsens 5 or more days after heparin is discontinued with complications such as thrombosis up to 3 weeks after exposure to heparin. In 50% of cases, the platelet count can decrease to very low numbers (<20 000/μL), which is not usual for typical HIT.
