Geriatric patients frequently encounter orthostatic hypotension (OH), a multifaceted condition characterized by a significant drop in blood pressure upon assuming an upright position. As the elderly population is particularly susceptible to OH, our review endeavors to comprehensively explore the complex nature of this condition and various factors contributing to its development. We investigate the impact of comorbidities, polypharmacy, age-related physiological changes, and autonomic dysfunction in the pathogenesis of OH.
