In this study, we aimed to investigate and infections in patients with PCOS and to evaluate the association between these microorganisms and the inflammatory process in the etiology of the disease. : This comparative cross-sectional clinical study was conducted at Balıkesir University Hospital and included 40 female patients diagnosed with PCOS in the gynecology outpatients clinic and 40 healthy female controls.

Spontaneous reactivation of resolved HBV infection in the absence of immunosuppression: case report and literature review.

It is estimated that two billion people worldwide are infected with hepatitis B. In such cases, patients exposed to the virus may experience HBV-reactivation(HBVr), which is usually due to immunosuppression. It is not anticipated that spontaneous-HBVr will occur in the absence of immunosuppression in resolved HBV.

The frequency and clinical features of posttransplant pneumonia in solid-organ transplantation recipients: A transplant center experience.

Introduction: In solid-organ transplant (SOT) recipients, while survival rates have improved with immunosuppressive therapies, the risk of opportunistic infections has also increased. This study aimed to evaluate the frequency of pneumonia, identify microbiological factors, investigate diagnostic methods, and analyse prognosis.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to identify adult SOT recipients referred to the pulmonary diseases department with a preliminary pneumonia diagnosis between 2011 and 2019.

Scope: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is a significant global health issue, impacting both low- and middle-income countries and industrialized nations. HEV genotypes 1 and 2, primarily transmitted through contaminated water, are endemic in low- and middle-income countries, whereas genotypes 3 and 4 are zoonotically transmitted in industrialized regions. Acute HEV infection poses severe risks, particularly to pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals, whereas chronic HEV infection leads to serious complications in those with pre-existing liver disease and transplant recipients.

A rare case of granulomatous mastitis by species.

Granulomatous mastitis (GM) is a rare, chronic, benign inflammatory disease of the breast. Here, we present a rare case of GM caused by brucellosis and present the first review to compile the cases in the literature. The diagnosis was confirmed by the patient's serological and histopathological results.

Infection control measures may be disrupted by inter- or intra-hospital transfers after major disasters. We report the possible outbreak and prevention of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus spp. (VRE) strains carried by infants transferred to our neonatal intensive care unit from another unit after the earthquake.

This is a multicentric retrospective study that covers patients with EPTB cases followed up from January 2015 to December 2022 among tuberculosis (TB) dispensaries and Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology clinics of 15 hospitals located in various regions of Turkey.
