Background: Asthma is a prevalent respiratory disease, and its management remains largely unsatisfactory. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been demonstrated to be efficacious in reducing airway inflammation in experimental allergic diseases, representing a potential alternative treatment for asthma. Migrasomes are recently identified extracellular vesicles (EVs) generated in migrating cells and facilitate intercellular communication.

Background: The present study explored the association between biological aging (BA), healthy eating index-2015 (HEI-2015) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in the general population of the United States.
Methods: We used data from the NHANES database between 2017-2018 years to conduct the study. Weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis, restricted cubic spline (RCS), and subgroup analysis were performed to analyze the association of BA and HEI-2015 with prevalence of NAFLD and the mediation effect of HEI-2015 was also discussed.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a limb movement disorder caused by the degeneration of brain neurons and seriously affects the quality of life of the elderly. However, the current drugs are symptomatic treatments that cannot prevent or delay the development of the disease. Targeted therapy for pathogenesis may be the direction of development in the future.

Background: GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) have been extensively utilized in the management of body weight in individuals with obesity. Circular RNA (circRNA), a class of covalently closed RNA molecules, has garnered increasing attention for its potential role in the pathogenesis of obesity. However, the specific mechanisms through which circRNA contributes to GLP-1RA-induced weight loss remains elusive.

Background: Early and timely detection of pulmonary nodules and initiation treatment can substantially improve the survival rate of lung carcinoma. However, current detection methods based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) cannot easily detect pulmonary nodules owing to low detection accuracy and the difficulty in detecting small-sized pulmonary nodules; meanwhile, more accurate CNN-based models are slow and require high hardware specifications.
Objective: The aim of this study is to develop a detection model that achieves both high accuracy and real-time performance, ensuring effective and timely results.

Background: Surgery for tumors in the cerebellopontine angle is always a significant challenge due to the densely packed neurovascular structures, the narrow deep location, and the complex relationship between the lesions and surrounding neurovascular structures. Recently, great attention has been given to the neuroendoscope for its exclusive advantages, which have added a new dimension to many classical microscopic surgeries. However, the feasibility and advisability of fully endoscopic neurosurgery for cerebellopontine angle tumors remain to be further evaluated.

Recent progress in wound healing has highlighted the need for more effective treatment strategies capable of addressing the complex biological and physiological challenges of wound repair. Traditional wound dressings often fail to address the complex and evolving needs of chronic, acute, and burn wounds, particularly in terms of promoting healing, preventing infection, and supporting tissue regeneration. In response to these challenges, calcium alginate fibers (CAFs) have emerged as promising materials, characterized by their exceptional structural properties and diverse biological functions, offering significant commercial potential for the development of advanced wound dressings and therapeutic solutions.

Citrate is a potential biomarker for early stage detection of prostate cancer (PC), its concentration significantly dropped to 2-20 mM in PC patients. Herein, a cheap, simple, and reliable citrate sensor was proposed based on the biogenic synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) derived from the biowaste of Syzygiumcumini (S. cumini) seeds.

Girls who suffer from central precocious puberty (CPP) are at risk of experiencing detrimental psychological and behavioural consequences, along with impaired brain development. However, the mechanism by which puberty hormones affect patients with CPP remains unclear. This study aimed to use degree centrality (DC) analysis to explore the impact of premature activation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis on brain functional development in girls with CPP.

Background: Nebulization of hypoxic human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (Hypo-EVs) can suppress airway inflammation and remodeling in a chronic asthmatic mouse; however, the exact mechanism remains unclear. Recently, airway epithelial barrier defects have been regarded as crucial therapeutic targets in asthma. The aim of this study was to investigate whether and how Hypo-EVs protect against the disruption of the airway epithelial barrier under asthmatic conditions.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a global health problem and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, with its mortality rate ranking third among all cancers. The etiology and progression of GC are characterized by a complex interplay of genetic and epigenetic changes, which present challenges for its early diagnosis and effective treatment. Elucidating the mechanisms underlying the occurrence and development of GC and identifying novel biomarkers for early detection and prognosis are crucial to improving patient outcomes.

Wound healing comprises a series of complex physiological processes, including hemostasis, inflammation, cell proliferation, and tissue remodeling. Designing new functional biomaterials by biological macromolecules with tailored therapeutic effects to precisely match the unique requirements of each stage is cherished but rarely discussed. Here, we employ all-aqueous microfluidics to fabricate multifunctional core-shell microparticles aimed at promoting whole-stage wound healing.

Background: Patients recovering from stroke experience a variety of symptoms that present as a synergistic and mutually reinforcing "symptom cluster," rather than as singular symptoms. In this study, we researched and systematic analyzed these symptom clusters, including core and bridge symptoms, to help determine the relationships between symptoms and to identify key symptom targets, providing a new approach for formulating precise symptom management interventions.
Methods: Convenience sampling was applied to select 432 stroke recovery patients treated in the Seventh People's Hospital of Changzhou City from August 1, 2023 to April 14, 2024.
