Physician perceptions, attitudes, and strategies towards implementing guideline-directed medical therapy in heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. A survey of the Heart Failure Association of the ESC and the ESC Council for Cardiology Practice.

Aims: Recent guidelines recommend four core drug classes (renin-angiotensin system inhibitor/angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor [RASi/ARNi], beta-blocker, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist [MRA], and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor [SGLT2i]) for the pharmacological management of heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). We assessed physicians' perceived (i) comfort with implementing the recent HFrEF guideline recommendations; (ii) status of guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) implementation; (iii) use of different GDMT sequencing strategies; and (iv) barriers and strategies for achieving implementation.

Methods And Results: A 26-question survey was disseminated via bulletin, e-mail and social channels directed to physicians with an interest in HF.

Brazilian primary dental care in a universal health system: Challenges for training and practice.

Objectives: To report the challenges for training and practice for the Brazilian primary dental care in a universal health system.

Methods: Health, education and protection rights against poverty are guaranteed by the 1988 Brazilian Constitution and public health in Brazil is provided by the Unified Health System (SUS), one of the largest public health systems in the world. According to SUS, every Brazilian citizen has the right to free primary oral health care as secondary and tertiary care, offering a unique opportunity to integrate oral care within general health care.

A pilot study on the global practice of informed consent in paediatric dentistry.

Background: Conducting oral treatment early in the disease course, is encouraged for better health outcomes. Obtaining informed consent is an essential part of medical practice, protecting the legal rights of patients and guiding the ethical practice of medicine. Japanese guidelines for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis 2023:Revised edition.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is an interstitial lung disease with a poor prognosis and an unknown cause that generally progresses to pulmonary fibrosis and leads to irreversible tissue alteration. The "Guidelines for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis 2017," specializing in the treatment of IPF for the first time in Japan and presenting evidence-based standard treatment methods suited to the state of affairs in Japan, was published in 2017, in line with the 2014 version of "Formulation procedure for Minds Clinical Practice Guidelines." Because new evidence had accumulated, we formulated the "Guidelines for the treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis 2023 (revised 2nd edition).

Anterior crossbite is a malocclusion that occurs for a variety of reasons, causes significant issues, and may be corrected in a variety of ways. Early recognition and timely intervention are crucial in managing anterior dental crossbites during the mixed dentition stage. The purpose of this report is to assist general dentists and pediatric dentists in distinguishing between cases within their scope of practice and those requiring referral to orthodontists and treating this condition immediately to prevent future complex treatment and improve patient aesthetics and function.

Post systems have long been used in the roots of teeth to retain dental restorations. The primary objectives of current post and core systems are to replace missing coronal tooth structure, retain the core, and provide sufficient retention and resistance form to the final restoration to restore original form and function. Many varieties of user-friendly post and core systems are available today for different endodontic, restorative, and esthetic requirements.

Aims: To outline the extent to which practice owners in Dutch oral healthcare practices (OHPs) use a directive and supportive leadership styles, to map out which goals practice owners in Dutch OHPs consider most important when choosing collaboration within the practice and to identify the reasons why oral healthcare professionals choose to engage in collaborative practice.

Materials And Methods: A survey involving 802 general dental practitioners, dental hygienists, and prevention assistants was conducted. The questionnaire covered, among other subjects, leadership styles and reasons for collaboration.

Buprenorphine dispensing before and after the April 2021 X-Waiver exemptions: An interrupted time series analysis.

Background: Until the end of 2022, a special registration, known as the X-waiver, was required to prescribe buprenorphine in the US. Before its removal, US federal regulations trialed an X-waiver exemption, initiated on April 28, 2021, which permitted buprenorphine prescribing for up to 30 patients without additional training. Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw: evolving research for multimodality medical management.

Purpose: Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a debilitating side effect of antiresorptive and antiangiogenic agents that can lead to progressive bone destruction in the maxillofacial region. Dental surgery, including tooth extractions, commonly trigger the onset of MRONJ. While guidelines suggest avoiding extraction when possible, complete avoidance is not always feasible, as necrosis can develop from dental and periodontal disease without dental procedures.

Dental students in an orthodontic course flipped classroom: A semi-experimental study on knowledge, practice, attitude, and satisfaction.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the students' attitudes before and after the flipped classroom, and the effectiveness of this method to promote the students' lateral cephalograms tracing abilities, students' satisfaction and their final exam scores.

Materials And Methods: This is a single-group quasi-experimental research conducted on dental students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS), Iran in 2019. The intervention was carried out in a blended learning approach with the flipped classroom model.
