Objective: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) improve cardiovascular outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes, but few studies have studied the risk of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). We investigated whether GLP-1 RA use reduce OHCA risk in type 2 diabetes when compared to dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor (DPP-4i) use.
Methods: We identified all patients having a redeemed prescription of a glucose-lowering drug between 1995 and 2019 and excluded patients with a first-time redeemed prescription consisting of insulin.

Our objective is to determine whether SGLT-2is reduce atrial fibrillation (AF) in comparison to other second-to third-line antidiabetic drugs in type 2 diabetes.

Materials And Methods: After fixation in 10% formalin (24 h), the biomaterial (a titanium nickelide plate with the surrounding tissues after subcutaneous implantation, patented titanium alloy plates with the surrounding tissues after cranioplasty, primary and secondary calcified atherosclerotic plaques) were fixed with 1% osmium tetroxide (12 h) and then stained with 2% aqueous solution of osmium tetroxide (48 h). The samples were further stained with 2% alcoholic uranyl acetate (5 h), dehydrated with isopropanol (5 h) and acetone (1 h), impregnated with a mixture of acetone and epoxy resin Epon (1:1, 6 h) and then embedded into a fresh portion of epoxy resin (24 h), which was followed by polymerization at 60°C.

The detection and localization of electrophysiological substrates currently involve invasive cardiac mapping. Electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI) using the equivalent dipole layer (EDL) method allows the noninvasive estimation of endocardial and epicardial activation and repolarization times (AT and RT), but the RT validation is limited to studies. We aimed to assess the temporal and spatial accuracy of the EDL method in reconstructing the RTs from the surface ECG under physiological circumstances and situations with artificially induced increased repolarization heterogeneity.

The objective of this study was to identify genes targeted by both copy number and copy-neutral changes in the right coronary arteries in the area of advanced atherosclerotic plaques and intact internal mammary arteries derived from the same individuals with comorbid coronary artery disease and metabolic syndrome. The artery samples from 10 patients were screened for genomic imbalances using array comparative genomic hybridization. Ninety high-confidence, identical copy number variations (CNVs) were detected.
