Lithium-sulfur batteries have been recognized as one of the excellent candidates for next-generation energy storage batteries because of their high energy density and low cost and low pollution. However, lithium-sulfur batteries have been challenged by low conductivity, low sulfur utilization, poor cycle life, and the shuttle effect of polysulfides. To address these problems, we report here an independent mixed sulfur host.

Gene Regulatory Networks (GRNs) are pivotal in governing diverse cellular processes, such as stress response, DNA repair, and mechanisms associated with complex diseases like cancer. The interventions in GRNs aim to restore the system state to its normal condition by altering gene activities over time. Unlike most intervention approaches that rely on the direct observability of the system state and assume no response of the cell against intervention, this paper models the fight between intervention and cell dynamic response using a partially observed zero-sum Markov game with binary state variables.

Object pose estimation is essential for computer vision applications such as quality inspection, robotic bin picking, and warehouse logistics. However, this task often requires expensive equipment such as 3D cameras or Lidar sensors, as well as significant computational resources. Many state-of-the-art methods for 6D pose estimation depend on deep neural networks, which are computationally demanding and require GPUs for real-time performance.

Intraoperative neuropsychological testing (IONT) is a sophisticated method of cognitive mapping during the resection of brain tumors in eloquent areas. Direct electrical stimulation during awake craniotomy is routinely utilized for mapping basic language and sensorimotor function, but the utilization of IONT offers an individualized approach that can yield real-time, comprehensive feedback on various cognitive functions, allowing for a tailored and more extensive tumor resection. In this video, the authors present the case of a 41-year-old male undergoing re-resection for a recurrent right temporal astrocytoma in which IONT played a crucial role.

Using the first principle calculations, we propose a boron and nitrogen cluster incorporated graphene system for efficient valley polarization. The broken spatial inversion symmetry results in high Berry curvature at and valleys of the hexagonal Brillouin zone in this semiconducting system. The consideration of excitonic quasiparticles within the approximation along with their scattering processes using the many-body Bethe-Salpeter equation gives rise to an optical gap of 1.

In this study, we show that on-chip grown, vertically aligned MoS films that are decorated with Ni(OH) catalyst are suitable materials to be applied as working electrodes in electrochemical sensing. The constructed sensors display a highly repeatable response to dopamine, used as a model analyte, in a large dynamic range from 1 μM to 1 mM with a theoretical detection limit of 0.1 μM.

Electroacoustic imaging is an imaging modality used to detect electric field energy distribution during electroporation, offering valuable guidance for clinical procedures, particularly in deep tissues. Traditionally, single-element piezoelectric transducers or arrays have been employed for this purpose. However, these piezoelectric sensors are sensitive to electromagnetic interference and require physical contact with the sample through a coupling medium, raising concerns for both clinical and preclinical applications.

Electrical performances of a biphenyl-derived amido Schiff base ligand L and its dinuclear Al(iii) complex (complex 1) were investigated in a metal-semiconductor (MS) junction. Electrical studies revealed that complex 1 significantly enhanced the electrical conductivity and improved the characteristics of a Schottky barrier diode (SBD). The - characteristics demonstrated that complexation of ligand L with Al(iii) ion increased the conductivity by two orders of magnitude (conductivity of L = 1.

A path to carbon neutrality requires the development of refrigeration units that use no refrigerant or emit less greenhouse gas (GHG), such as Thermoelectric coolers (TECs). Using the life cycle inventory assessment (LCIA), the environmental impacts of the manufacturing process of TECs were analyzed, including greenhouse gas emissions, human carcinogenic toxicity (HCT), terrestrial ecotoxicity (TE), freshwater ecotoxicity (FE), mineral resource scarcity (MRS), and fossil resource scarcity (FRS). The alumina plate manufacturing process produces the most GHG emissions because it uses a lot of electricity in the sintering process.

This article analyzes and compares three methodologies for identifying suitable regions for solar hydrogen production using photovoltaic panels: AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), FAHP (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process), and MC-FAHP (Monte Carlo FAHP), integrated with GIS (Geographic Information Systems). The study employs ten criteria across technical (Global Horizontal Irradiance, temperature, slope, elevation, orientation), economic (distance from transportation and electrical networks), and social (population density, proximity to residential areas) factors. Environmental and exclusion criteria define restrictive zones.

This study presents a family of coexisting multi-scroll chaos in a network of coupled non-oscillatory neurons. The dynamics of the system are analyzed using phase portraits, basins of attraction, time series, bifurcation diagrams, and spectra of Lyapunov exponents. The coexistence of multiple bifurcation diagrams leads to a complex pattern of multi-scroll formation, which is further complicated by the presence of coexisting single-scroll attractors that merge to form multi-scroll chaos.
