Two cases of alopecic and aseptic nodules of the scalp.

We present two cases of alopecic and aseptic nodules of the scalp (AANS) that were previously misdiagnosed. AANS is characterized by solitary or multiple dome-shaped alopecic nodules and predominantly affects young men. Dermatologists should be aware of this under recognized entity.

Folliculocentric lymphocytic hypersensitivity reactions in CLL/SLL patients: A unique clinicopathologic entity amongst non-specific hypersensitivity reactions.

Background: Cutaneous hypersensitivity eruptions in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) are a clinically and histologically heterogeneous group that can either precede, occur with, or follow the development of a hematologic malignancy. Therefore, establishing the diagnosis requires careful clinical and pathologic correlation and an understanding of the broad spectrum of presentations. Data is lacking on the correlation of skin disease with molecular/cytogenetic risk profiling of the tumor.

Mycophenolate mofetil-induced hyperlipidemia with cutaneous manifestations.

We report a case of a 49 year old woman who developed biopsy-proven xanthomas on her hands and arms after initiation of Mycophenolate mofetil therapy for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and subsequently went into remission upon cessation of the medication.
