Background: Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a rare, heterogeneous neurodegenerative disease for which no treatment is currently available. In the context of clinical trials, the representativeness of the included patients is crucial for the generalizability of the results. Herein, we present results from a multicenter perspective study to identify the most restrictive criteria for patient selection and to assess the representativeness of eligible patients.

Mental health encompasses the ability to cope with important stresses of life and to realize one's abilities in the community, and the COVID-19 pandemic represented a very stressful event for people with mental illnesses. Our aim was to assess mental well-being in people living with different mental disorders, comparing results obtained in 2016 with those observed after the COVID-19 pandemic. Ninety-six participants were assessed using the Mental Health Continuum Short Form and classified as "flourishing," "moderately mentally healthy," and "languishing.

Background: Individual chronic conditions have been linked to kidney function decline; however, the role of multimorbidity (the presence of ≥2 conditions) and multimorbidity patterns remains unclear.
Methods: A total of 3094 individuals from the Swedish National study on Aging and Care in Kungsholmen (SNAC-K) were followed for 15 years. Multimorbidity was operationalized as the number of chronic conditions and multimorbidity patterns identified using latent class analysis (LCA).

Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a pool of neurodevelopment disorders in which social impairment is the main symptom. Presently, there are no definitive medications to cure the symptoms but the therapeutic strategies that are taken ameliorate them. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of melatonin (MLT) in treating ASDs using an autistic mouse model BTBR TItpr3/J (BTBR).

Plasma phosphorylated-tau217 (p-tau217) has been shown to be one of the most accurate diagnostic markers for Alzheimer's disease. No studies have compared the clinical performance of p-tau217 as assessed by the fully automated Lumipulse and single molecule array (SIMOA) AlZpath p-tau217. The study included 392 participants, 162 with Alzheimer's disease, 70 with other neurodegenerative diseases with CSF biomarkers and 160 healthy controls.

Background And Objectives: Editors of scientific journals play a key role in the health-related research process. Our study aims to characterize the demographics, work habits, decision-making processes, and ethical challenges faced by editors of neurological journals and to evaluate associations between editor or journal characteristics and editorial decisions, as well as sources of conflict of interest.
Methods: Cross-sectional study involving editors from neurological journals that fell above the 50th percentile in the Scimago rankings.

The ongoing demographic, epidemiological and social changes are dramatically raising the clinical and care complexity of patients admitted to internal medicine (IM) departments. Collecting evidence for a better characterization of patients is crucial to tailor future interventions based on patient's real needs. The aim of this prospective multicenter study was to describe the complexity of care of patients hospitalized in IM by calculating the complexity of care (ICC) score, through the combination of clinical instability (NEWS score) and care dependency scales (mICD).

Background: In recent years, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models has revolutionized the diagnosis of Low Back Pain (LBP) and associated disc pathologies. Among these, SpineNetV2 stands out as a state-of-the-art, open-access model for detecting and grading various intervertebral disc pathologies. However, ensuring the reliability and applicability of AI models like SpineNetV2 is paramount.

Introduction: Health professionals that act as lecturers in higher education necessitate the acquisition of pedagogical skills along with clinical ones. Consequently, pedagogical training courses have been introduced as part of professional development or within university curricula. While several studies explored the experiences of attending courses on pedagogical methodology, there is a notable gap in the literature within the rehabilitation field.

Background: Inborn errors of immunity (IEIs) are more than 500 different rare congenital disorders of the immune system characterized by susceptibility to infections and immune dysregulation. The significant overlap of the clinical features among the different forms may lead to diagnostic delay. High throughput sequencing techniques may allow a timely genetic definition.

Rationale: Doravirine (DOR) is an attractive new option both for ART-naïve people with HIV (PWH) and those with suppressed HIV-RNA who seek treatment simplification. We used real-world data to examine the pattern of use of DOR-containing regimens in these settings.
Methods: All PWH enrolled in the Icona cohort after January 2020 who initiated a three-drug regimen (3-DR) with DOR or an integrase inhibitor (INSTI)-based regimen as first antiretroviral therapy (ART) or when switching ART, with HIV-RNA ≤50 copies/mL, were included.

Introduction: Heterozygous mutations in the progranulin gene (GRN) leading to decreased progranulin levels are one of the most frequent causes of inherited frontotemporal dementia (FTD). We evaluated progranulin levels in dried blood spots from capillary finger-stick collection (DBS).
Methods: Paired venous Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) plasma and DBS samples were collected from each participant with or without pathogenic GRN mutations.

Neurodevelopmental disability (ND) poses a significant challenge to infants' socio-emotional and cognitive development, as well as to caregiving dynamics, such as parental sensitivity and mother-infant interaction. Prior research highlights the crucial role of early parenting support interventions in enhancing parental behaviors, serving as a protective developmental factor for children at risk for or diagnosed with ND. This single-cohort, multicentric study aims to evaluate the efficacy of early video-feedback intervention (VFI) in improving maternal parenting behaviors.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) is marked by the BCR::ABL1 fusion gene. Monitoring tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy response is crucial for treatment management, thus, limitations in Reverse Transcription quantitative PCR's (RT-qPCR) accuracy and sensitivity led to the exploration of alternative methods like digital PCR (dPCR). This study evaluated dPCR efficacy in detecting Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) in CML patients undergoing TKI therapy.

Objective: Research on Cochlear implant (CI) outcomes has been mainly focused on verbal communication, whereas music perception has been less extensively explored. This study evaluated a music rehabilitation program, based on the mobile phone app Meludia (Meludia, France) to improve quality of life (QoL) and verbal perception in CI patients.
Design: In this non-randomised clinical trial, the experimental group underwent 16 Meludia sessions, while controls did not receive any music-specific rehabilitation.
