Many adult connective tissues undergo continuous remodeling to maintain matrix homeostasis. Physiological remodeling involves the degradation of collagen fibers by the intracellular cathepsin-dependent phagocytic pathway. We considered that a multidomain, small GTPase activating protein, IQGAP1, which is involved in the generation of cell extensions, is required for collagen phagocytosis, possibly arising from its interactions with cdc42 and the actin-binding protein Flightless I (FliI).

Objectives: There is currently no standardized approach for assessing the depth of invasion (DOI) of oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma via diagnostic imaging. We investigated the usefulness of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) for estimating the pathological DOI of oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma by evaluating the correlation of pathological DOI with the DOIs on CECT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 21 of 139 patients who underwent radical surgery for primary oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma between 2009 and 2018.

We report herein a case of a luminal and intramural unicystic ameloblastoma (UA) with a marked fluid-fluid level. The validity of imaging findings in diagnosing UA in the present case is discussed in reference to the literature. Brain atrophy as measured from structural MR images, is one of the primary imaging biomarkers used to track neurodegenerative disease progression. In diseases such as frontotemporal dementia or Alzheimer's disease, atrophy can be observed in key brain structures years before any clinical symptoms are present. Atrophy is most commonly captured as volume change of key structures and the shape changes of these structures are typically not analysed despite being potentially more sensitive than summary volume statistics over the entire structure.

We investigated 52 cases of de novo unbalanced translocations, consisting in a terminally deleted or inverted-duplicated deleted (inv-dup del) 46th chromosome to which the distal portion of another chromosome or its opposite end was transposed. Array CGH, whole-genome sequencing, qPCR, FISH, and trio genotyping were applied. Objective: To examine in a 3-year brain imaging study the effects of higher vs lower adherence to a Mediterranean-style diet (MeDi) on Alzheimer disease (AD) biomarker changes (brain β-amyloid load via C-Pittsburgh compound B [PiB] PET and neurodegeneration via F-fluorodeoxyglucose [FDG] PET and structural MRI) in midlife.
Methods: Seventy 30- to 60-year-old cognitively normal participants with clinical, neuropsychological, and dietary examinations and imaging biomarkers at least 2 years apart were examined. These included 34 participants with higher (MeDi+) and 36 with lower (MeDi-) MeDi adherence.
