: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that may have a significant impact on patients' quality of life. Alongside clinical scores, treatment goals include improvements in patients' quality of life, divided into its social, working and psychosocial life aspects. Indeed, psychological impairment should always be considered in the management of moderate-to-severe psoriasis.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder influenced by proteins involved in skin barrier maintenance and vitamin D metabolism. Using an intra-patient design, this study compared protein expression in intra-lesional (IL) and peri-lesional (PL) skin biopsies from AD patients and examined associations between protein levels, vitamin D status, and clinical features. Forty-four biopsies from twenty-two AD patients were analyzed using antibody microarrays targeting twelve proteins.

the present multicenter retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intra-class switching between interleukin-17A (IL-17A) inhibitors, specifically from ixekizumab to secukinumab, in patients with plaque psoriasis. this study included 11 patients (6 male, 5 female) who had previously received ixekizumab and then were switched to secukinumab. Patients' PASI, DLQI, and pain VAS (in those with psoriatic arthritis) were evaluated at weeks 16, 24, 54, and 98.

Aseptic abscesses syndrome is a rare but increasingly recognized disease that falls within the spectrum of autoinflammatory disorders. Here, we describe the case of a patient who presented with abdominal pain and fever, along with multiple abdominal and extra-abdominal abscesses, in the absence of underlying hematologic, autoimmune, infectious, or neoplastic conditions. Initially, the patient responded to glucocorticoids, but experienced several flares upon discontinuation, leading to the initiation of treatment with a TNFα inhibitor.

Background: Few data are available about the impact of oral anticoagulants (OAC) in patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and clinical complexity (CC).
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study utilising data from the TriNetX network. Based on ICD-10-CM codes entered between 2020 and 2022, AF patients aged ≥75 years on long-term OAC with CC were categorised into two groups based on OAC use in the year before entering the study (maintained vs discontinued).

Background: An increasing number of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) have cardiovascular comorbidities. However, the effects of comorbidities on responses to PAH treatment are not well understood.
Research Question: Do cardiovascular comorbidities in patients with PAH influence the efficacy and tolerability of inhaled or oral treprostinil?
Study Design And Methods: All patients from phase 3 studies TRIUMPH (N = 235) and FREEDOM-EV (N = 690) were included in this post hoc analysis and were classified as having 0, ≥1, or ≥2 cardiovascular comorbidities of interest based on patients' medical histories.

Background: Macrolide maintenance therapy (MMT) has demonstrated notable efficacy in reducing exacerbation in patients with bronchiectasis, which is a major risk factor for cardiovascular events. However, a comprehensive assessment of the cardiovascular benefits and safety profile of MMT in this population is lacking.
Methods: This territory-wide cohort study analyzed patients diagnosed with bronchiectasis in Hong Kong between 2001 and 2018.

Electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products have seen significant growth in sales and usage in recent years. Initially promoted as potentially less harmful alternatives to traditional tobacco, recent scientific evidence has raised serious concerns about the risks they pose, particularly in relation to atherosclerosis. While atherosclerosis has long been associated with conventional tobacco smoking, emerging research suggests that electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco may also contribute to the development of this condition and related cardiovascular complications.

Background: Melanoma brain metastases represents a significant clinical challenge, frequently associated with high morbidity and mortality. Recent advancements in neuroimaging, radiation therapy, and targeted systemic therapies, specifically BRAF and MEK inhibitors, have improved the management of this condition. Nevertheless, the optimal therapeutic approach for melanoma brain metastases remains a subject of ongoing debate, with no universally accepted treatment protocol.

Background: The role of sex in choosing between coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for unprotected left main coronary artery (ULMCA) disease has gained interest.
Methods: Randomized controlled trials and adjusted observational studies comparing PCI versus CABG in ULMCA patients with outcomes by sex were included. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), with secondary endpoints being all-cause mortality and repeated revascularization.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common atrial arrhythmia after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and is associated with high mortality. Although some clinical and echocardiographic variables have been defined to predict new-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF), electrophysiologic (EP) parameters have not been identified yet. We aimed to investigate the impact of atrial refractoriness on NOAF after TAVI.

Background: Extensive myocardial edema is a key feature of acute takotsubo syndrome (TTS) and it can be quantitatively assessed by T2 mapping cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging. Clinical correlates of myocardial edema in TTS are not well characterized.
Methods: Sixty patients with acute TTS underwent CMR with T2 mapping within one week of hospitalization.

Objective: As suggested by the EULAR recommendations, a comprehensive management of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) should include the evaluation of disease activity, chronic damage, and quality of life (QoL). QoL is significantly impaired in SLE patients, even in those achieving a state of remission, suggesting the possible contribution of other factors. Thus, in the present study we aimed at analyzing QoL in a large SLE cohort by using LupusQoL, and at identifying the main determinant of poorer QoL.

In this pilot study, we assessed the role of autophagy in Crohn's Disease (CD), particularly in patients with a stenosing phenotype. Through the analysis of biopsied specimens from 36 patients, including 11 controls and 25 CD patients, categorized into inflammatory and stenosing groups, we identified a significant reduction in the autophagosomal marker Lc3b-II in patients with active inflammation and stenosis. This was paralleled by an increase in oxidative stress markers, including sNOX2-dp and H2O2, and a decrease in the antioxidant capacity measured by HBA, suggesting an imbalance in autophagy and oxidative stress mechanisms.

Objective: Patients Acceptable Symptom State (PASS) is a single dichotomized question assessing health satisfaction. We aimed to investigate PASS achievement within 4 weeks of treatment with Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors (Jakinibs) and its association with treatment response after 4 and 12 weeks in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients.
Methods: We recruited consecutive RA patients starting baricitinib or tofacitinib.
