Ten years of marine evolutionary biology-Challenges and achievements of a multidisciplinary research initiative.

The Centre for Marine Evolutionary Biology (CeMEB) at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, was established in 2008 through a 10-year research grant of 8.7 m€ to a team of senior researchers. Today, CeMEB members have contributed >500 scientific publications, 30 PhD theses and have organised 75 meetings and courses, including 18 three-day meetings and four conferences.

A Four Carbon Organonitrate as a Significant Product of Secondary Isoprene Chemistry.

Oxidation of isoprene by nitrate radicals (NO) or by hydroxyl radicals (OH) under high NO conditions forms a substantial amount of organonitrates (ONs). ONs impact NO concentrations and consequently ozone formation while also contributing to secondary organic aerosol. Here we show that the ONs with the chemical formula CHNO are a significant fraction of isoprene-derived ONs, based on chamber experiments and ambient measurements from different sites around the globe.
