Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) currently serves as the primary diagnostic method for glioma detection and monitoring. The integration of neurosurgery, radiation therapy, pathology, and radiology in a multi-disciplinary approach has significantly advanced its diagnosis and treatment. However, the prognosis remains unfavorable due to treatment resistance, inconsistent response rates, and high recurrence rates after surgery.

Efficacy and safety of Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA) in patients with stable coronary artery disease across different weight subgroups.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA), a traditional Chinese patent medicine, plays a crucial role in both preventing and treating diverse cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction (MI), and heart failure. Preclinical research has demonstrated that the cardioprotective effects of MUSKARDIA are achieved through multiple pathways, such as enhancing coronary artery dilation, fostering new blood vessel growth, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, improving lipid metabolism, and protecting vascular endothelium.

Aim Of The Study: This subgroup analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA) plus optimal medical therapy (OMT) across different weight categories in treating stable coronary artery disease (CAD).

The identification of plasma and cerebrospinal fluid metabolites causally associated with mental disorders from a genetic perspective.

Background: Metabolomics research is a promising orientation for the diagnosis and intervention of several diseases, and observational studies have found many metabolic profiles to be associated with mental disorders. However, the causal relationship between plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) metabolites and mental disorders has not been established.

Methods: We identified independent genetic variants associated with plasma, CSF metabolites, and mental disorders from pooled data in the published Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) and performed Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate causal relationships.

Background: The arterial stiffening is attributed to the intrinsic structural stiffening and/or load-dependent stiffening by increased blood pressure (BP). The respective lifetime alterations and major determinants of the two components with normal aging are not clear.

Methods: A total of 3053 healthy adults (1922 women) aged 18-79 years were enrolled.

Background: Microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) patients are the dominant population in immune checkpoint blockade treatments, while more than half of them could not benefit from single-agent immunotherapy. We tried to identify the biomarker of MSI-H CRC and explore its role and mechanism in anti-PD-1 treatments. Tumor-specific MHC-II was linked to a better response to anti-PD-1 in MSI-H CRC and CD74 promoted assembly and transport of HLA-DR dimers.

[Risk factors for mortality in patients with spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage based on Mimics software analysis].

Objective: To investigate the independent risk factors for short-term mortality in patients with spontaneous cerebellar hemorrhage (SCH) based on Mimics software of medical image control system.

Methods: The clinical data of SCH patients treated at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January, 2010 to December, 2021 was retrospectively analyzed and compared, including gender, age, underlyin g diseases, Glasgow coma scale (GCS) and blood pressure at admission, laboratory indicators, imaging data, and short-term (3 weeks after onset) survival status. The imaging examination parameters were accurately calculated using Mimics software, including hematoma volume, longest diameter, and maximum cross-sectional area of cerebellar hemorrhage.

The cerebral hemodynamics underlying SLE with CI (SLE-CI) remain unclear. 97 patients with SLE and 51 heathy controls (HCs) matched for age and gender underwent MRI.

Background: The potential nephrotoxicity of cyclosporine A (CsA) has been a problem for treating graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). However, the relationship between CsA blood concentration and acute kidney injury (AKI) in pediatric patients after allo-HSCT remains unclear.

Methods: We performed a retrospective study including pediatric patients who received allo-HSCT in West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University from 2000 to 2022 and collected their clinical data.

Immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have transformed the treatment paradigm for advanced-stage squamous non-small-cell lung cancer (LUSC), a histological subtype associated with inferior outcomes compared with lung adenocarcinoma. However, only a subset of patients derive durable clinical benefit. In the first-line setting, multiple ICI regimens are available, including anti-PD-(L)1 antibodies as monotherapy, in combination with chemotherapy, or with an anti-CTLA4 antibody with or without chemotherapy.

Background: In recent years, with the increase of antibiotic resistance, tigecycline has attracted much attention as a new broad-spectrum glycylcycline antibiotic. It is widely used in the treatment of complex skin and soft tissue infections, complex abdominal infections and hospital-acquired pneumonia by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Tigecycline can exhibit significant time-dependent bactericidal activity, and its efficacy is closely related to pharmacokinetics.

Clinical and immunological assays of white blood cells (WBCs) in human peripheral blood are of significance for disease diagnosis and immunological studies. However, separating WBCs from blood with high recovery and high purity remains challenging. In this study, by incorporating a pair of linearly tapered filter arrays, a crossflow filtration-based microfluidic chip was designed and fabricated for separation of WBCs from blood.

Objective: This study aimed to analyse the correlation between the expression of cell proliferation-associated antigen (Ki-67), cell cycle protein-dependent kinase 4 (CDK4), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) with the outcome and prognosis of patients with breast cancer (BC) undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT).

Methods: We retrospectively analysed the clinicopathological data of 231 patients with BC who underwent preoperative NACT at XX Hospital between 1 January 2018 and 31 December 2021. Logistic regression models were used to analyse factors influencing NACT efficacy.

Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignancies with poor prognosis. The use of organoids to simulate gastric cancer has rapidly developed over the past several years. Patient-derived gastric cancer organoids serve as in vitro models that closely mimics donor characteristics, offering new opportunities for both basic and applied research.

Our study aimed to identify the inflammatory regulators causally associated with NAFLD pathogenesis through Mendelian randomisation.

Background: Asthma is a global chronic respiratory disease with complex pathogenesis. While current therapies offer some relief, they often fall short in effectively managing symptoms and preventing exacerbations for numerous patients. Case report: Identification of a Chinese patient with mutations initially presenting as autoimmune hemolytic anemia.

Mutations in the recombination-activating gene 1, a pivotal component essential for V(D)J recombination and the formation of T- and B-cell receptors, can result in autoimmune hemolytic anemia, a rare hematological condition characterized by the autoantibody-mediated destruction of red blood cells. Herein, we report the case of a 1-year-and-4-month-old girl who presented with progressively aggravated anemia, fever, and cough. Autoimmune hemolytic anemia was confirmed by bone marrow aspiration and Coombs test.

Research progress on the relationship between free fatty acid profile and type 2 diabetes complicated by coronary heart disease.

Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) have a 2 to 3 times higher risk of cardiovascular disease compared to non-diabetic individuals, and cardiovascular disease has consistently been a leading cause of death among diabetic patients. Therefore, preventing cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients remains a significant challenge. In addition to classic indicators such as cholesterol and lipoproteins, previous studies have demonstrated that plasma level of free fatty acid (FFA) is closely related to the occurrence of atherosclerosis, particularly in T2DM patients.
