Introduction: The development of genetic research over recent decades has enabled the discovery of new genetic markers, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). This, as well as the full sequencing of the dog genome, has enabled genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to be used in the search for genetic causes of canine mammary tumours (CMTs).

Material And Methods: Genotypic data containing 175,000 SNPs, which had been obtained using the Illumina CanineHD BeadChip microarray technique, were available for analysis in this study.

Primary Urinary Bladder Tumors in Three Guinea Pigs (Cavia Porcellus).

Urinary bladder tumors are not common in guinea pigs, but case numbers being diagnosed have increased in the past years. The authors present 3 referred cases of primary urinary bladder tumors in pet guinea pigs diagnosed using diagnostic imaging (CT, radiography, and ultrasonography) and exploratory laparotomy. Excision was not possible in the first case as the tumor was located at the neck of the urinary bladder and the owner opted for intraoperative euthanasia.

A Novel Surgical Hybrid Approach to Neoplastic Lesions in the Distal Part of the Urethra: A Pilot Series of Clinical Cases.

All the surgical approaches described to date for the removal of distal urethral tumors have some technical difficulties that make these tumors difficult to treat. The article presents for the first time the treatment results of three female dogs, diagnosed with transitional cell carcinomas of the distal urethra, operated with a newly developed hybrid surgical method-a combination of laparoscopy and open surgery. This technique uses vulvovaginectomy, combined with resection of the distal urethra and prepubic urethrostomy.

Porcine eyes with intact corneal epithelium were randomly selected to one of the four study groups: (1) untreated eyes moistened with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS); (2) eyes after the epithelial debridement and riboflavin application; (3) eyes after CXL procedure according to the Dresden protocol; and (4) eyes after corneal epithelial debridement, regularly moistened with PBS.
