Phone-based peer navigation may provide critical peer support, increase delivery flexibility, and require fewer resources. Prior studies show that phone-based navigation and automated text messaging interventions improve HIV care engagement, adherence, and retention among AYAH.

While there are many factors that influence differences in SC/I behaviors across sociodemographic groups, one factor that may be especially important is the perceived value of these behaviors.

Design: Clinicians and clinic administrators participated in semi-structured qualitative interviews, and parents of children 2 years of age or older with a recent diagnosis of AOM participated in focus groups. The Practical Robust Implementation and Sustainability Model (PRISM) guided the study.

We examined fatigue among emergency department (ED) clinicians. ED clinicians are susceptible to burnout, because of fatigue. Fatigue represents a latent hazard in ED care, being associated with impaired clinician performance, poor patient outcomes, and a negative impact on patient safety.

Methods: Data from an observational cross-sectional study of the general adult population (2022) was used under a causal framework to estimate the confounding-adjusted odds of tampering oxycodone after exposure to two types of ADF ER oxycodone. The tampering behaviors of those who used only single entity immediate-release (SE-IR) oxycodone was used as a comparison.

This relationship has not been examined for tracheal intubation of critically ill adults. We examined whether diabetes mellitus was independently associated with the time from induction of anesthesia to intubation of the trachea among critically ill adults.

CXCL12 ameliorates neutrophilia and disease severity in SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Neutrophils, particularly low-density neutrophils (LDNs), are believed to contribute to acute COVID-19 severity. Here, we showed that neutrophilia can be detected acutely and even months after SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients and mice, while neutrophil depletion reduced disease severity in mice. A key factor in neutrophilia and severe disease in infected mice was traced to the chemokine CXCL12 secreted by bone marrow cells and unexpectedly, endothelial cells.

Increasing the use of microphysiological systems (MPS) in Three Rs and regulatory applications is a nuanced but important goal, which would also help increase their scientific impact. There are three distinct and important stakeholder groups that each play a unique role in expediting the use of MPS for regulatory purpose - namely, commercial MPS developers, end-users and regulators. Additionally, non-profit organisations, such as the 3Rs Collaborative (3RsC), can help coordinate these efforts.

The accuracy of a patient-specific femoral planning and delivery system for total hip arthroplasty.

Introduction: A primary objective when performing a total hip arthroplasty (THA) is to restore hip biomechanics in accordance with a chosen surgical plan. The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of a 3D-printed patient-specific guide for delivering a planned femoral osteotomy for both a posterior and an anterior approach.

Methodology: 40 patients (20 anterior and 20 posterior) scheduled for THA received a preoperative work-up allowing for patient-specific implant sizing and positioning.
