Background: Careful anatomical investigation of canalis sinuosus (CS) is essential to prevent damage to blood vessels and nerves in this area during surgical procedures, such as placing dental implants in the anterior maxillary region. This study investigated the relationship and distance between the CS and its adjacent structures.
Methods: A total of 400 cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of Iranian adults aged 20-86 years were included in this retrospective study.

Diffusion of hydroxide (OH) and calcium (Ca) ions through dentin may cease external root resorption. Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)), mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), and calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement are the choices for this purpose due to their optimal properties. This study sought to analyze the effects of ultrasonic activation (UA) on pH and the release of calcium ions from Ca(OH), MTA, and CEM cement in external root resorption artificial defects.

One of the clinical problems following orthodontic treatment is white spot lesions around orthodontic brackets due to enamel demineralization. Confronting enamel demineralization during fixed treatments has long been a challenge for orthodontists. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of CO laser and Titanium Tetra-fluoride (TiF4) application on the prevention of enamel demineralization around orthodontic brackets.

Objectives: Understanding the shape and size of the sella turcica may help predict future orthodontic treatment needs related to skeletal malocclusion. This study aims to assess different morphological types of the sella turcica in lateral cephalometric radiographs and its correlation with malocclusion, as well as the relationship between gender and linear measurements of sella turcica.
Materials And Methods: The lateral cephalometric radiographs of 410 volunteers (111 men and 299 women) aged 8 to 30 years were evaluated.

Background: Considering the extensive use of bleaching agents and the occurrence of side effects such as enamel demineralization, this study aimed to assess the enamel changes of bleached teeth following the experimental application of chitosan-bioactive glass (CH-BG).
Methods: In this in vitro study, CH-BG (containing 66% BG) was synthesized and characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Thirty sound human premolars were bleached with 40% hydrogen peroxide, and the weight% of calcium and phosphorus elements of the buccal enamel surface was quantified before and after bleaching by scanning electron microscopy/ energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM, EDX).

Background: The objective of the current research was to evaluate how stress is distributed in the peri-implant bone of a mandibular overdenture with implants placed asymmetrically to the midline.
Methods: A 26-year-old male's mandible, with missing teeth, was examined using computed tomography (CT) scanning. Two implants were inserted at right angles to the occlusal plane, in the positions of the right canine and left lateral incisor of the mandible, with an internal connection.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of dental calcification stages in predicting the peak pubertal stage.
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on panoramic and lateral cephalometric images of 406 female patients aged 9-14 years. The skeletal maturity and calcification stages of the mandibular canines, first premolars, second premolars, and second molars were determined using the Hassel-Farman and Demirjian (DI) methods, respectively.

This study aimed to assess the relationship between skeletal malocclusion and radiomorphometric indices of the mandible in long face patients. This cross-sectional study evaluated 174 lateral cephalograms and panoramic radiographs of long face patients between the ages of 17 and 30 presenting at the Orthodontics Department of Qazvin Dental School. The gonial angle, antegonial angle, type of antegonial notch, and depth of antegonial notch were measured bilaterally on panoramic radiographs.

Cervical resorption is a serious threat to the longevity of the teeth. In this study, the Canny edge-detection algorithm was applied on CBCT images to compare the accuracy of original and Canny views for diagnosing cervical resorption in endodontically treated teeth. Intracanal metallic posts were inserted in 60 extracted teeth being randomly divided into three groups: control, 0.

Background: Orthodontic treatment planning for an impacted canine tooth requires accurate information about its position. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of two conventional orthodontic radiographic modalities with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) for localization of impacted maxillary canine teeth.
Materials And Methods: Panoramic radiographs, lateral cephalograms, and CBCT scans of 30 patients with unilaterally impacted maxillary canine teeth were retrieved from the archives.

The current study aimed to assess the effect of non-thermal plasma (NTP) on the pushout bond strength (PBS) of epoxy resin and tricalcium silicate-based endodontic sealers. Forty single-canal extracted teeth were decoronated at the coronal region, underwent root canal preparation, and were assigned to four groups (n=10) for the application of AH26 sealer, NTP+AH26 (P-AH26), Endoseal TCS sealer, and NTP+Endoseal TCS sealer (P-TCS). The root canals were sectioned into 1 mm slices, and the PBS value was measured in a universal testing machine.
