This study is aimed at describing a noninvasive conservative strategy to the treatment of cervical pregnancy and highlighting the success of ultrasound-guided therapeutic techniques. A 43-year-old woman with a history of one previous cesarean section presented in our unit with vaginal spotting and a positive urine pregnancy test. She was diagnosed with a cervical pregnancy, and she was successfully treated conservatively with the administration of intragestational sac methotrexate under ultrasound guidance.

The wandering spleen (WS) is a rare condition in which the spleen is not found in its usual location in the left hypochondrium but is positioned in the lower abdomen or the pelvis. This is a case of a 21-year-old woman who presented with chronic, intermittent, and subtle pain in the left lower quadrant of her abdomen. After clinical examination and ultrasound evaluation, an adnexal lesion was detected in the left lumbar area, and no splenic tissue was found in the left hypochondrium.

The impact of the pandemic outbreak associated with coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) on pregnant women is of interest to obstetricians and gynecologists due to the vulnerability of this target group. In pregnant women and their infants, an exceptional clinical management is warranted. Current epidemiological findings provide information regarding the effects of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) on pregnant patients and potential adverse perinatal outcomes.

Objectives: This study was aimed to assess (1) the prevalence of salivary and gastric (HP) infection in patients with and without periodontitis, (2) the prevalence of HP infection in patients with periodontitis according to its clinical classification, (3) the effect of periodontitis treatment in patients with or without gastric HP infection, and (4) if gastric HP eradication in combination with periodontitis treatment influences periodontitis clinical outcome.
Materials And Methods: Thirty-three adults with periodontitis treated by quadrant scaling and root planning (QSRP). The simplified plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing index (BOP), probing pocket depth (PPD), and clinical attachment level (CAL) were assessed pretreatment and 3 months of posttreatment.

Background: It is a global fact that the birth weight is increasing during the years around the world and for this reason it is very important to be examined as a potential risk factor for breast cancer. According to data from World Health Organization, breast cancer is the second most frequent malignancy across the world, after lung cancer, in Europe including Greece in incidence and mortality for women between the ages 0-85 years old.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate a possible association between neonatal birth weight of the women and breast cancer risk in Greek women.

Heterotopic pregnancy (HP) is defined as the simultaneous occurrence of an intrauterine and extrauterine gestation. Risk factors contributing to this condition are similar to those which contribute to ectopic pregnancy. While a triple heterotopic gestation through natural conception is uncommon, here we present the case of a patient with spontaneous intrauterine twins and a concurrent tubal extrauterine gestation, where the patient also had systemic lupus erythematosus.

Medical nutrition therapy is an integral part of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) management; however, the prescription of optimal energy intake is often a difficult task due to the limited available evidence. The present pilot, feasibility, parallel, open-label and non-randomized study aimed to evaluate the effect of a very low energy diet (VLED, 1600 kcal/day), or a low energy diet (LED, 1800 kcal/day), with or without personalized exercise sessions, among women with GDM in singleton pregnancies. A total of 43 women were allocated to one of four interventions at GDM diagnosis: (1) VLED ( = 15), (2) VLED + exercise ( = 4), (3) LED ( = 16) or (4) LED + exercise ( = 8).

One of the most widely used types of assisted reproduction technology is the fertilization (IVF), in which women undergo controlled ovarian stimulation through the administration of the appropriate hormones to produce as many mature follicles, as possible. The most common hormone combination is the co-administration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues with recombinant or urinary-derived follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). In the last few years, scientists have begun to explore the effect that different gonadotropin preparations have on granulosa cells' maturation and apoptosis, aiming to identify new predictive markers of oocyte quality and successful fertilization.

Uterine atony is a serious obstetrical complication since it is the leading cause of postpartum hemorrhage. Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) is one of the 5 major causes of postpartum mortality; therefore, it requires immediate medical intervention, independent of whether delivery occurs normally or with a cesarean section. While in the past years most cases of postpartum hemorrhage were caused due to uterine atony following vaginal delivery, in recent years most PPH cases indicate a significant association with cesarean delivery.

Prevention and treatment of infertility remains a priority for developed countries where a large proportion of women undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) after ovarian stimulation. Latest data suggest that, in the USA alone, almost eight million women of fertile age will have sought medical advice for fertility problems by 2025. However, over the last years, attention has been increasingly focused, and questions have risen, on the long-term health effects in women who underwent assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs).

Uncertainty exists concerning the type, adjunct, or dose of regimen to offer in frozen cycles in infertile women undergoing IVF/ICSI. Current systematic reviews have failed to identify one method of endometrial preparation as being more effective than another, whereas many IVF Units use variable and mixed protocols mainly based on their experience and convenience of use. Thus, we performed a four-center two-arm retrospective cohort study, encompassing 439 cycles in 311 women.

Background: Gynecologic melanomas are extremely rare malignancies, and primary malignant melanoma of the cervix (PMMC) is the rarest among them all, with less than 100 cases reported so far. Although some conditions have been correlated with the pathogenesis of this entity, no specific risk factor has been yet identified, with vaginal bleeding being the most common symptoms. The diagnosis is based on physical examination with speculum assessment and cytologic and histopathologic findings accompanied with immunohistochemical staining of lesion's biopsies.

The Notch signaling pathway controls normal embryonic development and tissue homeostasis of many cell types. It regulates cell proliferation, fate, differentiation, and cell death by short-range signaling between nearby cells that come in contact. The Notch pathway has also been critically involved in the pathobiology of a variety of malignancies, regulating cancer initiation and development, as well as early stages of cancer progression, by adjusting conserved cellular programs.

Human papillomavirus (HPV)-DNA testing combined with self-sampling could increase cervical cancer screening effectiveness, utilizing a sensitive screening modality and an easy sampling method with minimal pain or discomfort. Self-sampling acceptability, though, is pivotal. This study is a nested cross-sectional survey within GRECOSELF, a cross-sectional study on HPV-based screening with self-sampling, aiming at investigating self-sampling acceptability among Greek women residing in rural areas, and the factors affecting it.
