New computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) materials have been reported to have suitable mechanical and physical properties for endocrown restorations. However, there is a lack of literature on evaluating the retention of endocrown using these materials. This in vitro study aimed to compare the retention of endocrowns fabricated from 3 different CAD-CAM materials.

A simple and facile microwave-assisted method was developed for the synthesis of highly fluorescent silver-nanoparticles (Ag-NPs). The synthesis of silver-nanoparticles depends on a redox reaction between silver nitrate and ascorbic acid using chitosan as a stabilizing agent. The produced Ag-NPs were characterized using Zeta potential and transmission electron microscope micrograph where they are spherical in shape with smooth surface morphology and size of 26.

On August 14, 2024, following a regional declaration by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization declared mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, marking the second such declaration in two years. A series of outbreaks involving the more virulent clade I virus (compared to clade II, which caused a global outbreak in 2022), has now spread in 13 African countries, exposing the inadequacies of the public health infrastructure in these settings. There was significant investment during the 2022 global outbreak, but these efforts failed to address vaccine access and treatment in the Global South.

Energy harvesters based on nanomaterials are getting more and more popular, but on their way to commercial availability, some crucial issues still need to be solved. The objective of the study is to select an appropriate nanomaterial. Using features of the Reinforcement Deep Q-Network (DQN) in conjunction with Fuzzy PROMETHEE, the proposed model, we present in this work a hybrid fuzzy approach to selecting appropriate materials for a vehicle-environmental-hazardous substance (EHS) combination that operates in roadways and under traffic conditions.

The research objective in the context of the study relates to the major concern of corrosion affecting the wind turbines in operation to find materials with high durability in relation to environmental conditions of operation, strength, and cost. A method is an integration of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and VIKOR Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques that will assess seven different material options on sixteen criteria that comprise corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, cost, and a negative environmental impact. From this result, the AHP method calculated the weights for the indicators and chose potential materials, and finally, the VIKOR method used these materials and compared and ranked them to obtain a compromise solution.

This study aimed to clinically evaluate the performance of non-preheated bulk fill resin composite in class II cavities versus one, five and ten-time preheating cycles at 68 °C. Eighty-four recruited participants were randomly allocated into four groups (21 patients per group). One posterior Bulk-fill proximal restoration was performed for each participant according to the preheating cycles where in group I; teeth were restored with non-heated resin composite, group II: One preheating cycle of composite syringe was performed prior restoration, and group III: five preheating cycles while for group IV: Ten preheating cycles were performed.

Aim: Despite advancements in treatment modalities, myocardial infarction (MI) remains a significant global cause of mortality and morbidity. Metformin (MET), a commonly used antidiabetic medication, has demonstrated potential in various cardioprotective mechanisms. This study investigated whether MET could alleviate the histopathological, electrocardiographic, and molecular consequences of MI in rats.

Background: Restoring first permanent molars affected with molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is challenging. Focusing on improving the quality of life for children affected by MIH, at least until the complete eruption of first permanent molars to receive full coverage, to decrease the hypersensitivity and to be able to perform proper oral hygiene measures, the purpose of this study was to compare silver modified atraumatic restorative technique (SMART) versus the conventional restoration and fluoride varnish application on moderate to severe hypomineralized molars. The comparison considered the restoration survival, hypersensitivity, and digital surface area changes after one year follow up.

Aim: This study compared the quality and quantity of newly formed bone in rabbits' critical-sized calvarial defects filled with enamel matrix derivative (EMD) combined with freeze-dried bone allograft (FDBA) vs FDBA alone.
Materials And Methods: A total of 24 adult male white New Zealand rabbits were included. In each rabbit, three bone defects with a diameter of 8 mm were created on the calvarium bone; the first defect was left untreated, while the second was filled with FDBA, and the third was filled with EMD + FDBA.

Aim: This study was designed to compare between the use of Khoury's bone shell technique vs titanium-reinforced PTFE membrane for 3D-ridge augmentation of atrophic posterior mandible.
Materials And Methods: Sixteen patients were equally and randomly assigned to either the Khoury or PTFE group. In Khoury group, a mandibular bone block was harvested, split and then fixed to augment the mandibular defect using osteosynthesis screws.

Background: The pre-polymerization temperature of resin composite restorative materials could influence their adaptation to cavity details. As a current debate is existing about the refrigeration of resin composite restorative materials, this study was designed to assess the effect of refrigeration of 3 types of resin composite restorative materials with different matrix systems on their marginal adaptation in Class II restorations.
Methods: Forty-two sound maxillary molars, each with two separated Class II cavities, were used in this study.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a debilitating chronic disease marked by persistent inflammation and intestinal fibrosis. Despite the availability of various treatments, many patients fail to achieve long-term remission, underscoring a significant unmet therapeutic need. BMS-477118, a reversible inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4), has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties in preclinical and clinical studies with minimal adverse effects compared to other antidiabetic agents.

Hesperidin (Hes) functions as a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory to guard against damage to the heart, liver, and kidneys. Nevertheless, due to its restricted solubility and bioavailability, a delivery method is required for it to reach a specific organ. In this study, ion gelation was used to synthesize a chitosan/hesperidin nanoformulation.

This research introduces a novel hybrid system integrating solar drying, solar distillation, and photovoltaic thermal panels, aimed at drying agricultural products, producing clean drinking water, and conserving energy. The system enhances the drying air temperature using thermal energy storage materials and a solar dish concentrator connected to a hot water storage tank, ensuring continuous operation even after sunset. The solar distiller, equipped with energy storage materials and an air injection system, is integrated with an external condenser to condense water vapor before expulsion, thereby increasing freshwater productivity.

Hesperidin (Hes) protects different organs from damage by acting as a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. This study aims to evaluate the gastroprotective effects of free hesperidin and its chitosan nanoparticles (HNPs) against ethanol-induced gastric ulcers in rats, hypothesizing that HNPs will enhance bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy due to improved solubility and targeted delivery. HNPs were synthesized via ion gelation and characterized using TEM, SEM, and zeta potential analyses.
