Background: Understanding the kinetics and longevity of antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 is critical to informing strategies toward reducing Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) reinfections, and improving vaccination and therapy approaches.
Methods: We evaluated antibody titers against SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid (N), spike (S), and receptor binding domain (RBD) of spike in 98 convalescent participants who experienced asymptomatic, mild, moderate or severe COVID-19 disease and in 17 non-vaccinated, non-infected controls, using four different antibody assays. Participants were sampled longitudinally at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months post-SARS-CoV-2 positive PCR test.

Background: Organ transplant lay caregivers perform an essential and complex role, but there is a paucity of comprehensive, accessible education regarding transplant caregiving. We sought to create a broad, multifaceted educational toolkit for transplant caregivers. Given the complexities of this population, we report on lessons learned by organising diverse stakeholder engagement to develop an educational resource covering the breadth and depth of organ transplantation.

Patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures offer a unique opportunity to systematically incorporate patient perspectives of their health and wellbeing into treatment, view progress over time, and develop opportunities related to clinical decision support, shared decision making, and outcomes-driven payment and practice transformation. As healthcare institutions increasingly look toward adopting PRO measures in their practices, more information is needed regarding the practicalities of implementing a successful PRO program outside of the research setting. This article offers a stepwise approach to implementing a PRO program while overcoming barriers and leveraging facilitators that commonly exist in the realms of human contribution or team building, technological infrastructure, and process design.

Patients' control over how their health information is stored has been an ongoing issue in health informatics. Currently, most patients' health information is stored in centralized but siloed health information systems of healthcare institutions, rarely connected to or interoperable with other institutions outside of their specific health system. This centralized approach to the storage of health information is susceptible to breaches, though it can be mitigated using technology that allows for decentralized access.

Purpose: Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) are subject to intense global monitoring in an attempt to maintain awareness of prevalent and emerging resistance mechanisms and to inform treatment and infection prevention strategies. CRE and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacterales are not usually examined collectively in regards to their shared pool of resistance determinants. Here, we genetically and phenotypically assess clinical isolates of CRE and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacterales in the growing region of Central Texas, where CRE are emergent and occurrence of non-carbapenemase-producing-CRE (non-CP-CRE) infections is increasing.
