Development and Validation of Hindu Gratitude Scale (HGS-15): A Rnas Perspective.

J Relig Health

October 2023

University School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, India.

Researchers have proposed culture- and religion-based variations in experience and expression of gratitude. Accordingly, the present study developed and validated a Hindu Gratitude Scale (HGS) based on Hindu notion of rnas. The rnas are sacred obligations (duties) that every Hindu is supposed to fulfil during their lifetime.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an auto-immune disease that affects the synovial lining of the joints, causes synovitis and culminates to joint destruction. Cathepsin B is responsible for digesting unwanted proteins in extracellular matrix but its hyper expression could implicate in pathological diseases like RA. Available treatments for RA are classified into non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), and steroids, but the severe side effects associated with these drugs is one of concerns and cannot be ignored.

Biogenic green metal nano systems as efficient anti-cancer agents.

Environ Res

July 2023

NanoBioTech Laboratory, Department of Environmental Engineering, Florida Polytechnic University, Lakeland, FL, 33805, USA; School of Engineering, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun 248007, India. Electronic address:

Metal/metal oxide nano systems (M-NSs) of tunable and manipulative properties are emerging suitable for cancer management via immunity development, early-stage diagnosis, nanotherapeutics, and targeted drug delivery systems. However, noticeable toxicity, off-targeted actions, lacking biocompatibility, and being expensive limit their acceptability. Moreover, involving high energy (top-down routes) and hazardous chemicals (bottom-up chemical routes) is altering human cycle.

Context: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common type of skin cancer caused by malignant keratinocytes. Multiple studies have shown that protein mutations have a significant impact on the development and progression of cancer, including SCC. We attempted to decode the effect of single amino acid mutations in the Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) protein in this study.

Phenolic compounds (PhCs) are ubiquitously distributed phytochemicals found in many plants, body fluids, food items, medicines, pesticides, dyes, etc. Many PhCs are priority pollutants that are highly toxic, teratogenic, and carcinogenic. Some of these are present in body fluids and affect metabolism, while others possess numerous bioactive properties such as retaining antioxidant and antimicrobial activity in plants and food products.

Background: In the last few decades, advancements in cancer research, both in the field of cancer diagnostics as well as treatment of the disease have been extensive and multidimensional. Increased availability of health care resources and growing awareness has resulted in the reduction of consumption of carcinogens such as tobacco; adopting various prophylactic measures; cancer testing on regular basis and improved targeted therapies have greatly reduced cancer mortality among populations, globally. However, this notable reduction in cancer mortality is discriminate and reflective of disparities between various ethnic populations and economic classes.

Design and Computational Analysis of an MMP9 Inhibitor in Hypoxia-Induced Glioblastoma Multiforme.

ACS Omega

March 2023

Molecular Neuroscience and Functional Genomics Laboratory, Department of Biotechnology, Delhi Technological University (Formerly DCE), Delhi 110042, India.

The main therapeutic difficulties in treating hypoxia-induced glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) are toxicity of current treatments and the resistance brought on by the microenvironment. More effective therapeutic alternatives are urgently needed to reduce tumor lethality. Hence, we screened plant-based natural product panels intending to identify novel drugs without elevating drug resistance.

This recent study aims to evaluate the efficacy of membrane filtration on recovery of water resource from agro-waste such as bagasse, crop-based pulp and paper mill waste. A mini pilot scale membrane system having a combination of pre-treatment filter unit (pre-filter, sediment filter and pre-carbon filter), ultra-filtration and reverse osmosis with spiral wound configuration were employed to evaluate the water reuse efficacy of effluent coming from the secondary clarifier of the conventional treatment plant of the mill. The operational conditions were optimized using Taguchi method at pH 8, temperature 32 °C, and pressure 2 bar and a flow rate of 60 l/hr.
