In the current study, Sm ions doped Lithium Barium Tungstate (LiBaWO) (LBW) phosphors with the ability to emit orange-red light were made using the traditional high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. The structure and phase of the as-synthesized phosphor samples were examined via X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns. The diffraction peaks of the undoped LBW and Sm ions doped LBW phosphors closely resemble those of the Joint Committee on Powder Diffraction Standards (JCPDS) pattern with card number 01-072-1717.

Through improving the immune system's ability to recognize and combat tumor cells as well as its receptivity to changes in the tumor microenvironment, immunotherapy has emerged as a highly successful addition to the treatment of cancer. However, tumor heterogeneity poses a significant challenge in cancer therapy as it can undermine the anti-tumor immune response through the manipulation of the extracellular matrix. To address these challenges and improve targeted therapies and combination treatments, the food and drug administration has approved several immunomodulatory antibodies to suppress immunological checkpoints.

Within the tumor microenvironment, the fight between the immune system and cancer influences tumor transformation. Metastasis formation is an important stage in the progression of cancer. This process is aided by cellular detachment and resistance to anoikis, which are achieved by altering intercellular signaling.

Polymers of hydroxy alkanoates (PHA), also known as biodegradable, biocompatible plastic, are potential alternatives to petrochemical-based plastics. PHA is synthesized by microbes in their cytoplasm in the form of inclusion bodies in stress conditions such as nitrogen, oxygen, and phosphorus with excessive amounts of carbon. Sugar extracted from potato peel in the form of hydrolysate was employed as a carbon source for PHA production after acidic hydrolysis.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that causes difficulty while socializing and communicating and the performance of stereotyped behavior. ASD is thought to have a variety of causes when accompanied by genetic disorders and environmental variables together, resulting in abnormalities in the brain. A steep rise in ASD has been seen regardless of the numerous behavioral and pharmaceutical therapeutic techniques.

The markers that help to predict th function of a cardiovascular system are hemodynamic parameters like blood pressure (BP), stroke volume, heart rate, and cardiac output. Continuous analysis of hemodynamic parameters such as BP can detect abnormalities earlier, preventing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). However, sometimes due to motion artifacts, it becomes difficult to monitor the BP accurately and classify it.

The world has witnessed the cruelty of COVID-19 disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The association of COVID-19 with other secondary and bacterial co-infections has tremendously contributed to lung infections. An increased probability of having a secondary lung infection was observed among the post-COVID patients.

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are the evolutionary family of proteins that are highly conserved and present widely in various organisms and play an array of important roles and cellular functions. Currently, very few or no studies are based on the systematic analysis of the HSPs in Glioblastoma (GBMs) and ependymomas. We performed an integrated omics analysis to predict the mutual regulatory differential HSP signatures that were associated with both glioblastoma and ependymomas.

Background: Cancer is an outcome of various disrupted or dysregulated metabolic processes like apoptosis, growth, and self-cell transformation. Human anatomy harbors trillions of microbes, and these microbes actively influence all kinds of human metabolic activities, including the human immune response. The immune system which inherently acts as a sentinel against microbes, curiously tolerates and even maintains a distinct normal microflora in our body.

Micro/nanobots are integrated devices developed from engineered nanomaterials that have evolved significantly over the past decades. They can potentially be pre-programmed to operate robustly at numerous hard-to-reach organ/tissues/cellular sites for multiple bioengineering applications such as early disease diagnosis, precision surgeries, targeted drug delivery, cancer therapeutics, bio-imaging, biomolecules isolation, detoxification, bio-sensing, and clearing up clogged arteries with high soaring effectiveness and minimal exhaustion of power. Several techniques have been introduced in recent years to develop programmable, biocompatible, and energy-efficient micro/nanobots.

A rapid, reliable, and user-friendly electrochemical sensor was developed for the detection of xanthine (Xn), an important biomarker of food quality. The developed sensor is based on a nanocomposite comprised of molybdenum disulfide-molybdenum trioxide (MoS/MoO) and synthesized using a single-pot hydrothermal method. Structural analysis of the MoS/MoO nanocomposite was conducted using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy, while its compositional properties were evaluated through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

There is a significant concern about the accessibility of uncontaminated and safe drinking water, a fundamental necessity for human beings. This concern is attributed to the toxic micropollutants from several emission sources, including industrial toxins, agricultural runoff, wastewater discharges, sewer overflows, landfills, algal blooms and microbiota. Emerging micropollutants (EMs) encompass a broad spectrum of compounds, including pharmaceutically active chemicals, personal care products, pesticides, industrial chemicals, steroid hormones, toxic nanomaterials, microplastics, heavy metals, and microorganisms.

Epilepsy treatment is challenging due to heterogeneous syndromes, different seizure types and higher inter-individual variability. Identification of genetic variants predicting drug efficacy, tolerability and risk of adverse-effects for anti-seizure medications (ASMs) is essential. Here, we assessed the clinical actionability of known genetic variants, based on their functional and clinical significance and estimated their diagnostic predictability.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has mutated into several variants, and evidence says that new variants are more transmissible than existing variants. Even with full-scale vaccination efforts, the theoretical threshold for eradicating COVID-19 appears out of reach. This article proposes an artificial intelligence(AI) based intelligent prediction model called Deep-SIQRV(Susceptible-Infected-Quarantined-Recovered-Vaccinated) to simulate the spreading of COVID-19.

This study proposes the fabrication of a highly sensitive electrochemical immunosensor for label-free detection of EpCAM antigen. MXenes, novel 2D materials have become popular owing to their unique electrochemical properties. Unlike conventional immunosensors, which are unable to detect the carcinoma at primary stage and also time consuming, the use of highly conducting MXene provides a label-free and highly sensitive immunosensor.

Developing cost-effective electrocatalysts using earth-abundant metal as an alternative to expensive precious metal catalyst remains a key challenge for researchers. Several strategies are being researched/tested for making low-cost transition metal complexes with controlled electron-density and coordination flexibility around the metal center to enhance their catalytic activity. Herein, we report a novel lutidine coordinated cobalt(ii) acetate complex [(3,5-lutidine)Co(OAc)(HO)] (1) as a promising electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction (OER).

Context: Continuous blood pressure (BP) monitoring plays an important role while treating various cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. A high correlation between arterial blood pressure (ABP) and Photoplethysmogram (PPG) signal enables using a PPG signal to monitor and classify BP continuously. Control of BP in realtime is the basis for the prevention of hypertension.

Non-cellular secretory components, including chemokines, cytokines, and growth factors in the tumor microenvironment, are often dysregulated, impacting tumorigenesis in Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) microenvironment, where the prognostic significance of the current treatment remains unsatisfactory. Recent studies have demonstrated the potential of post-translational modifications (PTM) and their respective enzymes, such as acetylation and ubiquitination in GBM etiology through modulating signaling events. However, the relationship between non-cellular secretory components and post-translational modifications will create a research void in GBM therapeutics.
