Background: Transport porters (TPTs) are essentially involved in supporting hospital operations and maintaining high-quality patient care. The traditional porter management lacks transmission of temporal and spatial information of the porters thus affecting porter operations. In this work, we investigate the barriers in traditional porter management and the impact of a real-time location system (RTLS) in improving time and cost efficiency for porter operations.

Background: Rebound pain occurs after the resolution of peripheral nerve block and hampers patient recovery in the postoperative period. We sought to synthesise available data from randomised controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating the efficacy of prophylactic dexamethasone for rebound pain in adult patients undergoing surgery with a peripheral nerve block.

Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, RCTs reporting rebound pain and use of dexamethasone in the context of a peripheral nerve block were searched in various databases and updated in May 2023.

The neurotransmitter histamine exists in two isomeric forms and could be an interesting ligand due to three nitrogen atoms with the possibility of binding to metals in different ways besides its crucial role in biological systems. However, no metal-histamine interaction is known in the literature. Therefore, two histamine-bound magnesium porphyrins [MgT(4-Cl)PP(hist)] 1 and [MgT(4-Br)PP(hist)] 2 have been synthesized and structurally characterized.

Introduction: Current anti-leukemic chemotherapies with multiple targets suffer from side effects. Synthetic drugs with huge off-target effects are detrimental to leukemic patients. Therefore, natural plant-based products are being increasingly tested for new anti-leukemic therapy with fewer or no side effects.

Introduction: With available genomic data and related information, it is becoming possible to better highlight mutations or genomic alterations associated with a particular disease or disorder. The advent of high-throughput sequencing technologies has greatly advanced diagnostics, prognostics, and drug development.

Areas Covered: Peptidomics and proteogenomics are the two post-genomic technologies that enable the simultaneous study of peptides and proteins/transcripts/genes.

Wiesenfeld described orofacial granulomatosis (OFG) as a group of noncaseating granulomatous disorders affecting the different parts of the body including oral and maxillofacial region, which can have variable etiology. The involvement of oral and maxillofacial region can be exclusive or primary before the involvement of other organs. OFG is a multifactorial clinicopathologic disorder, and its clinical manifestation mimics the various systemic conditions making its diagnosis tough for a dentist.

Nano silver (Ag(n)) is employed as an active antimicrobial agent, but the environmental impact of Ag(n) released from commercial products is unknown. The quantity of nanomaterial released from consumer products during use should be determined to assess the environmental risks of advancement of nanotechnology. This work investigated the amount of silver released from three different types of fabric into water during washing.
