Purpose: Evaluate the feasibility of quantification of Relaxation Along a Fictitious Field in the 2nd rotating frame (RAFF2) relaxation times in the human myocardium at 3 T.
Methods: mapping was performed using a breath-held ECG-gated acquisition of five images: one without preparation, three preceded by RAFF2 trains of varying duration, and one preceded by a saturation prepulse. Pixel-wise maps were obtained after three-parameter exponential fitting.

4D (bio-)printing endows 3D printed (bio-)materials with multiple functionalities and dynamic properties. 4D printed materials have been recently used in biomedical engineering for the design and fabrication of biomedical devices, such as stents, occluders, microneedles, smart 3D-cell engineered microenvironments, drug delivery systems, wound closures, and implantable medical devices. However, the success of 4D printing relies on the rational design of 4D printed objects, the selection of smart materials, and the availability of appropriate types of external (multi-)stimuli.

The aim of the present work is to design active acoustic metamaterial consisting of an array of Helmholtz resonators and fabricating them using an additive manufacturing technique in order to assist in a reduction in noise levels in aerospace applications. To this aim, initially, a passive metamaterial consisting of an array of 64 Helmholtz resonator unit cells is designed and tested to establish the effectiveness and region of performance. The selected design variable for change is identified as the resonator cavity depth through the frequency response for each parameter of the Helmholtz resonance equation and randomized to achieve a broadband frequency range of the passive metamaterial.

Hearing loss is a highly prevalent multifactorial disorder affecting 20% of the global population. Current treatments using the systemic administration of drugs are therapeutically ineffective due to the anatomy of the cochlea and the existing blood-labyrinth barrier. Local drug delivery systems can ensure therapeutic drug concentrations locally while preventing adverse effects caused by high dosages of systemically administered drugs.

Objective: Mandibular reconstruction using patient-specific cage implants is a promising alternative to the vascularized free flap reconstruction for nonirradiated patients with adequate soft tissues, or for patients whose clinical condition is not conducive to microsurgical reconstruction. This study aimed to assess the biomechanical performance of 3D printed patient-specific cage implants designed with a semi-automated workflow in a combined cadaveric and retrospective case series study.
Methods: We designed cage implants for two human cadaveric mandibles using our previously developed design workflow.

This study investigates the effects of natural exposure in an indoor environment on restorative quality and cognitive ability. Thirty participants were shown nature at three different indoor sites: baseline, indoor (some vegetation), and semi-indoor (a large amount of vegetation and view to sky) for five minutes. Both 2D and 3D re-entrant designs are among the well-known prevalent auxetic structures exhibiting negative Poisson's ratio. The present study introduces novel analytical relationships for 2D re-entrant hexagonal honeycombs for both negative and positive ranges of the cell interior angle θ (θ<0 showing a negative Poisson's ratio).
