Paraneoplastic chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) is a rare manifestation associated with small cell lung carcinoma and other malignancies. In this report, we present a challenging case involving a 60-year-old man with small cell lung carcinoma who developed symptoms of intestinal pseudo-obstruction, including abdominal distention, pain, and obstipation. Despite receiving extensive treatment with intravenous gamma globulin and glucocorticoids, the patient's symptoms did not improve, ultimately resulting in irreversible nervous system damage.

Background: Positive regulators of T-cell function (PTFRs), integral to T-cell proliferation and activation, have been identified as potential prognostic markers in colorectal cancer (CRC). Despite this, their role within the tumor microenvironment (TME) and their response to immunotherapy are not yet fully understood.
Methods: This study delved into PTFR-related CRC subtypes by analyzing four independent transcriptome datasets, emphasizing the most significant prognostic PTFRs.

Clinically, tumor removal surgery leaves irregularly shaped wounds that are susceptible to bacterial infection and further lead to excessive inflammation. Injectable hydrogel dressings with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties have been recognized as an effective strategy to care for postoperative tumor wounds and prevent recurrence in recent years. In this work, we constructed a hydrogel network by ionic bonding interactions between quaternized chitosan (QCS) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)-Zn complexes which were coordinated by EGCG and zinc ions.

Drug-induced nephrotoxicity (DIN) is a big concern for clinical medication, but the clinical use of certain nephrotoxic drugs is still inevitable. Current testing methods make it hard to detect early renal injury accurately. In addition to understanding the pathogenesis and risk factors of drug-induced nephrotoxicity, it is crucial to identify specific renal injury biomarkers for early detection of DIN.

Kinesin family member 23 (KIF23), an index of tumor proliferation, can serve as a prognostic marker in numerous tumors. However, the relationship between KIF23 expression and diagnostic value, immune infiltration, and immunotherapy response remains unclear in gastric cancer(GC). We primarily demonstrated that GC tissue had higher levels of KIF23 expression than the adjacent normal tissue on mRNA and protein levels.

Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) tend to differentiate into adipocytes rather than osteoblasts in osteoporosis and other pathological conditions. Understanding the mechanisms underlying the adipo-osteogenic imbalance greatly contributes to the ability to induce specific MSC differentiation for clinical applications. This study aimed to explore whether DEP-domain containing mTOR-interacting protein (DEPTOR) regulated MSC fate and bone-fat switch, which was indicated to be a key player in bone homeostasis.
