Introduction: Weight regain after bariatric surgery remains a relevant and worrisome topic, requiring greater understanding and involvement in research into new adjuvant treatments. This study aims to compare the preliminary effectiveness and feasibility of the Mindfulness-Based Health Promotion and Attachment-Based Compassion Therapy programs as opposed to usual treatments (workshops) on the eating behavior of patients with progressive weight gain after bariatric surgery in Brazilian patients at a private clinic. It was hypothesized that both interventions are feasible and that the self-compassion program may be more effective than the mindfulness program.

We report the case of a patient suffering from biopsy-proven relapsing tumefactive demyelinating lesions (TDLs) of the central nervous system who had five relapses in 16 years. No signs/symptoms suggestive of alternative pathologies emerged during the follow-up. A limited benefit was observed with intravenous (IV) high-dose steroids, while both plasma exchange and IV immunoglobulin G (IgG) administration were ineffective.

Although deficits in learning and retrieving new information are well characterized in dementia with Lewy bodies, autobiographical memory has never been explored in this disease. Yet, autobiographical memory impairments are a pervasive feature of dementia, well characterized in other neurodegenerative diseases. Moreover, autobiographical memory corresponds to an extension over time of the self, which we hypothesize is altered in dementia with Lewy bodies and impairment of which could be linked to the insular atrophy occurring from an early stage of the disease.

Background And Objectives: Although pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis (POMS) is characterized by a more rapid accumulation of CNS inflammation than adult-onset MS (AOMS), the therapeutic algorithms applied in POMS are usually based on AOMS therapeutic outcomes. To define a high-efficacy treatment (HET)-based strategy to treat POMS, we designed an observational retrospective study aimed at evaluating the efficacy and safety of natalizumab (NTZ) in naïve POMS and AOMS.

Identifying and validating a biomarker with high specificity in early-stage dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) using a feasible method is crucial to enhance the current suboptimal diagnostic procedure. Previous research revealed abnormalities, including hypoperfusion in the right anterior insular cortex at group level, in prodromal DLB. Exploring hypoperfusion of the right anterior insula, at an individual-level and assessing its relevance as a potential imaging biomarker in early DLB, has, to our knowledge, not been investigated.

Introduction: Treatment of advanced HepatoCellular Carcinoma (HCC) is based on first-line (L1) combination of atezolizumab and high-dose (HD) bevacizumab while second-line (L2) refers one antiangiogenic protein kinase inhibitors (aaPKI). Cardiovascular (CV) diseases account for over 4 million deaths every year in Europe and over 220 000 deaths in Italy, representing the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines have visionary included in the at very high CV risk group patients without previous acute ischemic events, such as those with subclinical atherosclerosis, chronic coronary syndrome or peripheral arterial disease, familial hypercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus with target organ damage or multiple associated risk factors, and those with high calculated CV risk score, recommending to consider them and to achieve the same LDL-cholesterol targets as for secondary prevention patients. The aim of this position paper is to provide an updated overview of ESC guidelines that focuses on these patient categories to raise awareness within the clinical community regarding CV risk reduction in this specific epidemiological context.
