Background: Previous studies have reported that cuff-assisted colonoscopy (CAC) can be used for detection of adenoma (DA). However, there are inconsistent results regarding the CAC for DA. Thus, this study will systematically explore the impact of CAC for DA.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been demonstrated to serve as targets for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) and exosomes derived from MSCs also display chondroprotective effects. This study aims to investigate the regulatory role of exosomal microRNA-9-5p (miR-9-5p) secreted by bone marrow-derived MSCs (BM-MSCs) on OA in a rat model induced by anterior cruciate ligament/medial collateral ligament transection. Luciferase reporter assay was conducted to verify the putative miR-9-5p binding sites to 3'UTR of syndecan-1 (SDC1).

Down-regulation of microRNA-98 promoted apoptosis of TNF-α stimulated human fibroblast-like synoviocytes via up-regulating IL-10.

In this study, we constructed a tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α)-induced synovial cell inflammatory model using human synoviocytes (HS) cell line to explore the function of miR-98 in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). miR-98 mimics or miR-98 inhibitor were transfected into HS cells to up-regulate or down-regulate the expression of miR-98. The proliferation and apoptosis of HS cells were determined using CCK8 assay and flow cytometry, respectively.

3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine causes cytotoxicity on 661W cells through inducing macrophage polarization.

The abuse of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), a psychedelic drug, can lead to a variety of disorders in neural system, including the death of retinal neural cells. MDMA at lower doses does not cause obvious cytotoxicity to photoreceptor cells, indicating potential indirect mechanisms which have not yet been elucidated. This study investigated the effect of MDMA at nontoxic concentration on macrophage activation state and its resultant toxicity to photoreceptor cells.
