The aim of this study was to explore the value of computed tomography (CT) images based on electronic health (E-health) combined with painless gastrointestinal endoscopy (PGE) in the diagnosis of neurocognitive function in patients with combined anesthesia of propofol and butorphanol tartrate. 126 patients undergoing PGE were selected as the research objects, and all were performed with CT perfusion imaging before and after anesthesia to obtain the cerebral blood volume (CBV), cerebral blood flow (CBF), mean transit time (MTT), and time to peak (TTP). The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was adopted to evaluate the cognitive function of patients.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effect of TECNIS Symfony intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and identify the effect of kappa angle on the depth of focus (DOF) after implantation.

Methods: This prospective clinical study included consecutive patients who underwent cataract surgery and TECNIS Symfony IOL implantation at the Daqing Oilfield General Hospital from January 2019 to September 2019. Patients were divided into three groups according to the preoperative kappa angle (r): A (0 < r ≤ 0.

Objectives: We evaluated the safety and efficacy of the novel dual-therapy sirolimus-eluting and endothelial progenitor cell (EPC) capture COMBO stent.

Background: (Very) late stent thrombosis (ST) and neo-atherosclerosis limit the performance of drug-eluting stents. The capture of EPCs accelerates stent re-endothelialization, thereby potentially decreasing the risk of restenosis and ST.

Isoliquiritigenin Attenuates Neuroinflammation in Traumatic Brain Injury in Young Rats.

Neuroimmunomodulation

September 2020

National Cancer Center/National Clinical Research Center for Cancer/Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China,

Objectives: Inflammation and apoptosis play a critical role in the pathological progress of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Isoliquiritigenin is a bioactive component extracted from licorice roots, which possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic properties. This study aims to investigate the potential effects of isoliquiritigenin on neuroinflammation in a rat model of TBI.

Protective effects of quercetin against brain injury in a rat model of lipopolysaccharide-induced fetal brain injury.

Int J Dev Neurosci

December 2018

Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Daqing Oilfields General Hospital, No. 9 Zhongkang Road, Daqing, 163000, Heilongjiang, China.

Maternal exposure to lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a bacterial endotoxin produced during infection, leads to disruption in fetal brain development and causes newborn brain injury. Quercetin (QR) is a multipotent flavonoid that functions as an antioxidant and protects against inflammation and neurodegeneration. In this study, we explored the potential functions of QR in alleviating maternal LPS exposure induced fetal brain damage.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been demonstrated to be implicated in the pathogenesis of a number of human diseases including cancer. The aim of current study was to reveal the potential clinical significance of serum miR-21 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). CCK8 assay was used to evaluate the effects of miR-21 overexpression/downregulation on the chemoresistance of NPC cells.

The present study investigated the characteristic features of cancer stem cells (CSCs) using an aggressive human osteosarcoma cell line OS-65. Hoechst 33342 dye exclusion was used to distinguish the cancer stem-like side population (SP) cells from OS-65 cells. Furthermore, the SP cells were characterized via chemoresistance and cell death assays, reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescence.

The present study was aimed to investigate the effect of tumstatin on inhibition of proliferation and induction of apoptosis in Saos-2 human osteosarcoma cells and to understand the mechanism involved. Inhibition of cell proliferation was analyzed by MTT assay and induction of apoptosis through nuclear fragmentation assay. Viability of Saos-2 cells was reduced to 19% on treatment with 25 µM concentration of tumstatin after 48 h.

Article Synopsis
  • Plantar fasciitis is a common heel pain condition affecting 11% to 15% of adults, leading to professional care needs.
  • A study examined the outcomes of a minimally invasive surgery called percutaneous latticed plantar fasciotomy on 17 patients with chronic plantar fasciitis, monitored for over 13 months.
  • Results showed significant improvement in pain scores without complications, and all patients returned to regular shoe wear within 3 weeks, suggesting this technique is a promising treatment option.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common bone cancer with a great tendency for local invasion and distant metastasis. Restricted by the severe toxicity of conventional drugs, the therapeutic challenge of osteosarcoma still remains unconquered. The objective of the present research work was to investigate the antiproliferative activity of wogonoside against human osteosarcoma (SaOS-2) cell line.

Ectomesenchymal cells isolated from the first branchial arch have the potential to differentiate into a variety of cell lineages both in vitro and in vivo. This study was aimed to confirm the plasticity of multilineage differentiation with molecular and cellular characterization. Monolayer cultures of ectomesenchymal cells harvested from the first branchial arch primordia in embryonic day 9.
