Background And Purpose: Previous studies have reported conflicting results regarding the association between influenza vaccination and dementia. This association was investigated in a nationwide register-based cohort study.
Methods: Using nationwide registries, dementia-free adults aged ≥65 years in Denmark from 2002 to 2018 without previous influenza vaccinations were included.

Department of Oncology, Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, Blegdamsvej 9, 2100, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Background: Gastric and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer represents a significant global health challenge, with high recurrence rates and poor survival outcomes. This study investigates circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as a biomarker for assessing recurrence risk in patients with resectable gastric and GEJ adenocarcinomas (AC).
Methods: Patients with resectable gastric and GEJ AC, undergoing perioperative chemotherapy and surgery, were prospectively enrolled.

Goals: We aimed to evaluate the Danish CRC screening program, estimate colonic neoplasia's prevalence, and assess the utilized BP regimens.
Background: People with cystic fibrosis (pwCF) have an increased risk of precancerous polyps and colorectal cancer (CRC), with occurrence at an earlier age compared with the general population. Consequently, colonoscopy screening is recommended.

Background: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common cause of hospitalisation in infants aged ≤ 6 months in Western countries. Nearly 1,500 infants under six months of age are hospitalised with RSV annually in Denmark. This nationwide study describes the healthcare resource utilisation and costs related to RSV hospitalisation in this vulnerable age group.

Objective: Human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is the recommended primary screening method against cervical cancer. Denmark started implementing HPV testing as a primary screening method in 2021, but no national data are yet available. We report the results of the first and second screening rounds in a large Danish pilot implementation study.

Introduction: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have immunotoxic effects in children while studies in adults, including recent studies on the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine response have been less consistent. In a cohort of 50-69-year-olds repeatedly vaccinated against COVID-19 in Denmark from early 2021, we aimed to assess the association between serum-PFAS concentrations and SARS-CoV-2 antibody responses.
Methods: We assessed serum-PFAS concentrations among 371 middle-aged adults from the National Cohort Study of Effectiveness and Safety of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines (ENFORCE) who had received their first vaccination against COVID-19.

Background: Migraine presents significant health and economic challenges. Despite the widespread use of triptans, some patients discontinue them because of insufficient relief or adverse effects. Using national registers, the present study investigates the excess costs and labour market disaffiliation of Danish patients discontinuing triptan treatment.

Purpose: The increasing use of advanced medical technologies to detect adverse events, for instance, artificial intelligence-assisted technologies, has shown promise in improving various aspects within health care but may also come with substantial expenses. Therefore, understanding the potential economic benefits can guide decision-making processes regarding implementation. We aimed to estimate the potential cost savings associated with reducing length of stay and avoiding readmissions within the framework of an artificial intelligence-assisted vital signs monitoring system.

Introduction: Patients with lumbar spinal stenosis may have poor balance, decreased physical function and problems maintaining physical activity levels due to radiculopathy. Decompressive surgery is often indicated if conservative management fails to achieve a satisfactory clinical outcome. While surgical management has proven effective at treating radiculopathy, and patients report increased physical function postoperatively, objective measures of postural control and physical activity remain sparse.

The differential diagnosis of suspected multiple sclerosis has been developed using data from North America, northern Europe, and Australasia, with a focus on White populations. People from minority ethnic and racial backgrounds in regions where prevalence of multiple sclerosis is high are more often negatively affected by social determinants of health, compared with White people in these regions. A better understanding of changing demographics, the clinical characteristics of people from minority ethnic or racial backgrounds, and the social challenges they face might facilitate equitable clinical approaches when considering a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.

A pivotal animal model for development of anticancer molecules is mice with subcutaneous tumors, grown by injection of xenografted tumor cells, where micro-Computed Tomography (µCT) of the mice is used to analyze the efficacy of the anticancer molecule. Manual delineation of the tumor region is necessary for the analysis, which is time-consuming and inconsistent, highlighting the need for automatic segmentation (AS) tools. This study introduces a preclinical µCT database, comprising 452 whole-body scans from 223 individual mice with subcutaneous tumors, spanning ten diverse µCT datasets conducted between 2014 and 2020 on a preclinical PET/CT scanner, making it the hitherto largest dataset of its kind.

Introduction: Neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) is the leading cause of irreversible vision loss in developed countries. However, a significant gap persists in understanding this population, exacerbated by their advanced age and visual impairments, which can hinder research participation and access to healthcare. The purpose of this study was to describe the content of the questionnaire and the participating patients with nAMD.

Importance: While the typical onset of multiple sclerosis (MS) occurs in early adulthood, 2% to 10% of cases initially present prior to age 18 years, and approximately 5% after age 50 years. Guidance on approaches to differential diagnosis in suspected MS specific to these 2 age groups is needed.
Observations: There are unique biological factors in children younger than 18 years and in adults older than age 50 years compared to typical adult-onset MS.
