Introduction: Academic achievement in nursing students is significantly influenced by their self-esteem and goal orientation. Defensive pessimism, a strategy where students set low expectations to prepare for potential failure, helps them stay motivated and focused. While this cognitive strategy can boost effort and performance, its relationship with self-esteem and goal orientation remains underexplored among nursing students, revealing a gap in understanding how these factors interact to influence academic success.

Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates how workplace gaslighting and mobbing affect nurses' career stability across various healthcare centers in Egypt.
  • Data from 483 nurses was collected using established questionnaires, revealing moderate levels of both negative behaviors and career entrenchment, with significant correlations between them.
  • The findings stress the need for a zero-tolerance culture towards such toxic behaviors in nursing, suggesting that support systems like counseling could enhance nurses' resilience and workplace well-being.

Ammonia is a gas that produces zero carbon emissions when used in energy storage systems. Hence, there is increasing interest for the application of ammonia as fuel in various energy storage devices, specifically solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), as it has the potential to be efficient and environmentally friendly. In addition, compared to other fuel cells, SOFCs fed with ammonia offer various benefits such as such as sustainability and safety.

Background: The empathic relationship between nursing students and patients allows them to understand and address caring behavior for patients. Appropriate emotional support equips them to overcome the complexities and difficulties inherent in patient care. This support cultivates resilience and self-awareness, enabling students to manage their emotions effectively and establish meaningful connections and caring with their patients.

Background: Kinesiophobia could act as a significant barrier against physical activity following cardiac procedures worsening cardiovascular health problems and potentially leading to conditions like hospital-acquired anxiety and depression among patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Nurses are the vanguard health care team who can aid patients in taking proactive steps to overcome fear of movement following cardiac procedures.

Aim: The overarching aim is to investigate the relationship between kinesiophobia, anxiety and depression, and patients' perception of nursing care.

A simple, precise and inexpensive spectrofluorimetric method has been developed for assay of rivaroxaban raw material and its tablets. The method depends on the quenching effect of rivaroxaban on the fluorescence intensity of acetoxymercuric fluorescein (AMF). Parameters that may affect the reaction such as pH, AMF solution concentration, reaction time and diluting solvents were studied and optimized.

As a contribution to the graphene-based nanoferrite composites, this article is intended to present Mn, Co, and Co-Mn nanoferrites for the preparation and investigation of such samples. Nanoparticles of Co ferrite, Mn ferrite, and Co-Mn ferrite were chemically synthesized by the coprecipitation method. The composites of ferrite/graphene were made by incorporating weight ratios of 25% graphene to 75% ferrite.

Four novel chitosan hydrogels were successfully synthesized through the cross-linking reaction of chitosan with different concentrations of ethyl 5-(3,5-dihydroxy-1,4-dioxan-2-yl)-2-methylfuran-3-carboxylate. Their structures were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), C Cross polarization magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (CP/MAS C NMR), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA, DTA), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Cytotoxicity on hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG-2) cell line and a normal African green monkey kidney (Vero) cell line were studied using the MTT assay.

Two novel chitosan Schiff bases namely chitosan pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline Schiff base (Ch-PQ) and chitosan phenyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline Schiff base (Ch-PQ) were synthesized as a modification of chitosan in order to increase its ability in heavy metal removal from wastewater. Their structures were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, TGA analysis and X-ray diffraction. They were tested for the removal of hexavalent chromium from synthetic samples.

Recent studies suggest a potential role of bioactive lipids in acute kidney injury induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The current study was designed to determine the profiling activities of various polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) metabolizing enzymes, including lipoxygenases (LO), cyclooxygenase, and cytochrome P450 in the plasma of LPS-injected mice using LC-MS. Heat map analysis revealed that out of 126 bioactive lipids screened, only the 12/15-LO metabolite, 12-HETE, had a significant (2.

Background: Biological mechanisms contribute to the relationship between polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) exposure and infertility in males by altering semen quality.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the impact of PAHs on male infertility using the sperm chromatin dispersion test (Halo sperm assay).

Methods: Sixty-six (66) infertile males under 45 years of age were examined for the determination of urinary metabolite and oxidative stress by measuring lipid peroxidation and antioxidant activity of glutathione and glutathione-s-transferase, as well as hormonal activity of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), testosterone and prolactin and semen quality.

Primary cilia are appendages observed in most types of cells, and serve as cellular antennae for sensing environmental signals. Evidence is accumulating that correct ciliogenesis and ciliary functions are indispensable for normal skeletal development by regulating signaling pathways important for bone development. However, whether ciliogenesis is regulated by bone-related factors in osteoblasts is largely unknown.

Kruppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is a zinc finger transcription factor that plays crucial roles during the development and maintenance of multiple organs. We and others have previously shown that KLF4 is involved in bone modeling and remodeling but roles played by KLF4 during skeletogenesis are still not fully understood. Here, we show that KLF4 is expressed in the epiphyseal growth plate and articular chondrocytes.
