The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected more than two million people of the world, and far social distancing and segregated lifestyle have to be adopted as a common solution in recent years. To solve the problem of sanitation control and epidemic prevention in public places, in this paper, an intelligent disinfection control system based on the STM32 single-chip microprocessor was designed to realize intelligent closed-loop disinfection in local public places such as public toilets. The proposed system comprises seven modules: image acquisition, spraying control, disinfectant liquid level control, access control, voice broadcast, system display, and data storage.

A number of studies have been demonstrated that arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (ALOX-5) plays a role in regulating a range of physiological and pathological processes through the catalysis of leukotriene formation from arachidonic acid (ARA). The coding sequence of ALOX-5 from Apostichopus japonicus (Aj-ALOX-5) was successfully amplified, resulting in a 2028 bp ORF sequence that encodes 674 amino acids. A comparison of the amino acid sequence with those of other 5-lipoxygenases revealed that Aj-ALOX-5 has the N-terminal "PLAT domain" and C-terminal "lipoxygenase structural domain" characteristic of this enzyme family.

The present study was to investigate the effect of the astaxanthin high internal phase Pickering emulsion (H-AXT) on DEHP-induced liver lipid metabolism disorder and to demonstrate its possible protective mechanism. We have developed an antioxidant activity emulsion system to deliver astaxanthin into the liver to maximize its ability to protect the liver. In vitro, H-AXT intervention inhibited oxidative stress restored the level of mitochondrial membrane potential to 90 % of that of normal LO2 cells, and alleviated the imbalance of energy metabolism by protecting mitochondrial structure and function.

The corrosion resistance of nickel-titanium nitride (Ni/TiN) composites is significantly influenced by the operation parameters during the jet pulse electrodeposition (JPE) process. The effect of current density, jet rate, TiN concentration, and duty cycle impact on the anti-corrosion property of Ni/TiN composites were investigated and optimized using the response surface method (RSM). After the optimization of the operation parameters, the corrosion current of Ni/TiN composites decreased from 9.

Advancements in spatial transcriptomics (ST) technology have enabled the analysis of gene expression while preserving cellular spatial information, greatly enhancing our understanding of cellular interactions within tissues. Accurate identification of spatial domains is crucial for comprehending tissue organization. However, the effective integration of spatial location and gene expression still faces significant challenges.

Thermal comfort is a subjective perception, hence conventional evaluation using meteorological factors faces a technical challenge in precise assessment. Human beings have the nature to differentiate expressions of facial emotions when varied thermal environments are perceived. Facial expression scores can be taken as a predictor of perceived thermal comfort which can be precisely assessed using deep learning against physical factors.

Despite many studies on the environmental cycling of As, Fe, and S, sulfide (S(-II))-induced hydrous ferric arsenate (HFA) transformation remains to be elucidated. Herein, we investigated the anaerobic reaction of HFA with S(-II) at three environmental concentrations (1, 10, and 50 mM) at pH 48. Changes in solid-phase As, Fe, and S speciation were investigated by XRD, FTIR, Raman, XPS, synchrotron XANES, SEM, and TEM.

Medical coding involves assigning codes to clinical free-text documents, specifically medical records that average over 3,000 markers, in order to track patient diagnoses and treatments. This is typically accomplished through manual assignments by healthcare professionals. To improve efficiency and accuracy while reducing the workload on these professionals, researchers have employed a multi-label classification approach.

Continual relation extraction (CRE) aims to extract relations towards the continuous and iterative arrival of new data. To address the problem of catastrophic forgetting, some existing research endeavors have focused on exploring memory replay methods by storing typical historical learned instances or embedding all observed relations as prototypes by averaging the hidden representation of samples and replaying them in the subsequent training process. However, this prototype generation method overlooks the rich semantic information within the label namespace and are also constrained by memory size, resulting in inadequate descriptions of relation semantics by relation prototypes.

The significance of HO as a marker of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and oxidative stress in living organisms has spurred growing interest in its roles in inflammation and disease progression. In this report, a ratiometric time-gated luminescence (RTGL) probe is proposed based on mixed lanthanide complexes, ER-BATTA-Tb/Eu, for imaging the HO generation both in vitro and in vivo. Upon exposure to HO, the probe undergoes cleavage of the benzyl boric acid group, releasing hydroxyl (─OH) groups, which significantly reduces the emission of the Eu complex while slightly increasing the emission of the Tb complex.

Exploring lanthanide light upconversion (UC) has emerged as a promising strategy to enhance the near-infrared (NIR) responsive region of silicon solar cells (SSCs). However, its practical application under normal sunlight conditions has been hindered by the narrow NIR excitation bandwidth and the low UC efficiency of conventional materials. Here, we report the design of an efficient multiband UC system based on Ln/Yb-doped core-shell upconversion nanoparticles (Ln/Yb-UCNPs, Ln= Ho, Er, Tm).

In response to the challenges of target misidentification, missed detection, and other issues arising from severe light attenuation, low visibility, and complex environments in current underwater target detection, we propose a lightweight low-light underwater target detection network, named PDSC-YOLOv8n. Firstly, we enhance the input images using the improved Pro MSRCR algorithm for data augmentation. Secondly, we replace the traditional convolutions in the backbone and neck networks of YOLOv8n with Ghost and GSConv modules respectively to achieve lightweight network modeling.

Vehicle logo detection (VLD) is a critical component of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), particularly for vehicle identification and management in dynamic traffic environments. However, traditional object detection methods are often constrained by image resolution, with vehicle logos in existing datasets typically measuring 32 × 32 pixels. In real-world scenarios, the actual pixel size of vehicle logos is significantly smaller, making it challenging to achieve precise recognition in complex environments.

Aqueous batteries have become a promising means of energy storage due to its environmental friendliness. Nevertheless, it often exhibits limited energy density that hinder their application. Considering that ammonium ion (NH ) has a low mass and a small hydration radius, aqueous ammonium ion batteries (AAIBs) are expected to solve the problem of low energy density.
