Can rural elderly groups be supported by increasing the pension contribution rate?

As a typical East Asian country transitioning from a production-based social insurance system to a modern free social insurance system, South Korea has set a precedent for other Asian countries. This study adopts data from 2006, 2010, and 2012 Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA) and uses a fixed effect analysis of the quasi-natural experiment to conclude that the increase in the Korean pension contribution rate has a limited negative impact on social security participation. The degree of filial piety of children, including the financial support of those children, rather than the number of children, affects the participation of the elderly in social security insurance.

A real-time detection model for smoke in grain bins with edge devices.

The global food crisis is becoming increasingly severe, and frequent grain bins fires can also lead to significant food losses at the same time. Accordingly, this paper proposes a model-compressed technique for promptly detecting small and thin smoke at the early stages of fire in grain bins. The proposed technique involves three key stages: (1) conducting smoke experiments in a back-up bin to acquire a dataset; (2) proposing a real-time detection model based on YOLO v5s with sparse training, channel pruning and model fine-tuning, and (3) the proposed model is subsequently deployed on different current edge devices.

A New Topology-Switching Strategy for Fault Diagnosis of Multi-Agent Systems Based on Belief Rule Base.

Effective fault-diagnosis strategies have been the focus of research on multi-agent systems (MASs). In this paper, the belief rule base (BRB)-based distributed fault-diagnosis problem for MASs is investigated, and a topology-switching strategy is developed to increase the reliability of fault-diagnosis model. Firstly, a BRB-based distributed fault-diagnosis model is constructed for the MAS with multiple faults, then expert knowledge is used to judge whether the agent is faulty.

Few studies have investigated learners' emotional experiences and the interactions between emotion, cognition, and activity in the flipped foreign language classroom (i.e., a mixed teaching mode that combines in-class teaching and off-class self-directed learning).

Unpacking language teacher beliefs, agency, and resilience in the complex, unprecedented time: A mixed-method study.

We conducted this mixed-method study by focusing on the influx relationship among teacher beliefs, agency, and resilience during the pandemic and exploring the relationships and tensions among these constructs or capacities. Specifically, we surveyed 93 language teachers across seven different regions in China and collected their perceptions and beliefs about challenges and solutions during the first wave of the pandemic. In a further step, we interviewed six participants, analyzed the transcripts of the interviews, and then explored how their agency and resilience emerged and developed during the pandemic.

Contrasting the primings between English and Chinese: To advance Hoey's theory of lexical priming from the perspective of culture psychology.

The present study demonstrated that Hoey's promising and serviceable theory could serve as one that can describe and explain similarities and differences exhibited between English and Chinese. Three fundamental concepts as defined in the theory (collocation, colligation, and semantic association) were considered. The combinatory profile showed that: (1) different word choices were primed to constitute to a shared semantic association (2) no unique word combination containing the nodes was found, but high or low frequency use of particular clusters and collocates appearing at both sides to the node occurred; (3) it is claimed that the interpretation and explanation of priming similarities and differences between English and Chinese need to be extended to culture psychology.

In recent years, dynamic programming and reinforcement learning theory have been widely used to solve the nonlinear control system (NCS). Journalists' Response and Reporting of Public Emergencies in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.

In order to improve the response ability of journalists to public emergencies, this study uses the computer simulation research method, based on Shannon's information theory and the basic theory of journalism and communication, constructs the general model of public emergencies based on the statistical results of big data, and constructs the irrational natural person game model of four types of news communication participants. In the simulation analysis, it is found that in the face of public emergencies, journalists, on the one hand, firmly implement the publicity caliber, strengthen the amount of creation, and improve the forwarding amount and approval amount of manuscripts under the artificial intelligence news system. On the other hand, they should achieve effective interaction with nonofficial news media such as we media, and the subjective news department should provide effective guidance and guidance to the media.

Container fleet renewal considering multiple sulfur reduction technologies and uncertain markets amidst COVID-19.

The onset of 2020 is marked by stricter restrictions on maritime sulfur emissions and the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this background, liner companies now face the challenge to find suitable sulfur reduction technologies, make reasonable decisions on fleet renewal, and prepare stable operation plans under the highly uncertain shipping market. Considering three sulfur reduction technologies, namely, fuel-switching, scrubber, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel engine, this paper develops a robust optimization model based on two-stage stochastic linear programming (SLP) to formulate a decision plan for container fleet, which can deal with various uncertainties in future: freight demand, ship charter rate, fuel price, retrofit time and Sulfur Emission Control Area (SECA) ratio.

Opportunity Cost of Environmental Regulation in China's Industrial Sector.

In this paper, we employ a directional distance function to estimate the opportunity cost arising from environmental regulations in China's industrial sector. The change of opportunity cost is decomposed mathematically into two components including technical change and input change. Our results show that the opportunity cost attributed to environmental regulation is nil in some regions.

This study explored the global cyberspace security issues, with the purpose of breaking the stereotype of people's cognition of cyberspace problems, which reflects the relationship between interdependence and association. Based on the Apriori algorithm in association rules, a total of 181 strong rules were mined from 40 target websites and 56,096 web pages were associated with global cyberspace security. Moreover, this study analyzed support, confidence, promotion, leverage, and reliability to achieve comprehensive coverage of data.

A new health prediction model for a sensor network based on belief rule base with attribute reliability.

Health prediction plays an essential role in improving the reliability of a sensor network by guiding the network maintenance. However, affected by interference factors in the real operational environment, the reliability of the monitoring information about the sensor network tends to decline, which affects the health prediction accuracy. Furthermore, the lack of monitoring information and high complexity of the network increase the difficulty of health prediction.
