Background: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is standard of care for acute cerebral infarction (ACI) due to large vessel occlusions. However, its clinical efficacy in patients with ACI due to distal medium vessel occlusions (DMVOs) remains unclear. This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of MT in patients with ACI due to DMVOs.

Background: Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) pose significant management challenges, with treatment options such as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and surgical resection (SR) often debated. This meta-analysis seeks to compare the efficacy and safety of SRS versus SR in treating cerebral AVMs.

Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases adhering to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines.

Background: Not many large-sample investigations are available that compare the potency of the relationship of remnant cholesterol (RC) and other lipid parameters with diabetes and prediabetes. The goals of our study are to discover the relationship between RC and prediabetes, diabetes, and insulin resistance (IR) and to investigate RC, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), non-HDL-C, triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol (TC), TC/HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, and TG/HDL-C, which are the lipid parameters that are most positively related to diabetes, prediabetes, and IR.

Methods: This research enrolled 36 684 subjects from China's eight provinces.

Article Synopsis
  • The oral glucose tolerance test is not commonly used for diabetes screening due to its high cost and complexity, leading to misdiagnosis of patients with isolated post-challenge hyperglycemia (IPH).
  • A diagnostic system, the IPH Diagnosis System (IPHDS), was developed using data from over 54,000 participants, employing machine learning algorithms to identify individuals with IPH based on ten selected features.
  • The IPHDS demonstrated a strong performance with an AUC of 0.823 in external validation, showing better accuracy than existing models, and is available online for instant predictions, making it a practical tool for diabetes screening in the general population.

Background: Insulin resistance (IR) can lead to cellular metabolic disorders, activation of oxidative stress, and endothelial dysfunction, contributing to in-stent restenosis (ISR). The triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index), a new indicator reflecting IR, is extensively researched in the cardiovascular field. This study, through a meta-analysis, aimed to utilize a larger combined sample size and thereby enhance the overall test efficacy to explore the TyG index-ISR relationship.

Background: The relationship between post-endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) blood pressure (BP) and outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) remains contentious. We aimed to explore whether this association differs with different cerebral perfusion statuses post-EVT.

Methods: In a multicenter observational study of patients with AIS with large vessel occlusion who underwent EVT, we enrolled those who accepted CT perfusion (CTP) imaging within 24 hours post-EVT.

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of unilateral biportal endoscopic decompression and unilateral biportal endoscopic lumbar interbody fusion (ULIF) in the treatment of degreeⅠdegenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis (DLS).

Methods: A clinical data of 58 patients with degreeⅠDLS who met the selection criteria between October 2021 and October 2022 was retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 28 cases were treated with unilateral biportal endoscopic decompression (decompression group) and 30 cases with ULIF (ULIF group).

Objective: This study investigated the predictive value of serum MDA and 4-HNE levels on early neurological deterioration (END) after recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients.

Methods: This study analyzed 287 AIS patients with standard-dose rt-PA IVT. Clinical baseline and pathological data were recorded before rt-PA IVT, and neurologic deficit was assessed by NIHSS.

Oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) is a critical model for studying hypoxic-ischemic cerebrovascular disease in vitro. This paper is to investigate the protection of OGD-induced cellular damage and inflammatory responses by OGD preconditioning in vitro, to provide a theoretical basis for OGD preconditioning to improve the prevention and prognosis of ischemic stroke. OGD or OGD preconditioning model was established by culturing the PC12 cell line in vitro, followed by further adding A23187 (calcium ion carrier) or CsA (calcium ion antagonist).

Early neurological deterioration after intravenous thrombolysis (IAT) leads to increased mortality and morbidity in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This study investigated the correlation between serum Cav-1 and NGB levels and END after IAT and explored their predictive values for poor prognosis of AIS. Totally 210 patients with AIS who underwent IAT within 4.

Objective: To explore the significance of intraoperative sentinel lymph node (SLN) identification in endometrial cancer.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 56 patients with intraoperative SLN recognition (group A) and 50 patients without intraoperative SLN recognition (group B). SLN and pelvic abdominal lymph node distribution, SLN recognition rate, SLN recognition effect, mortality, the incidence of adverse events, and cumulative survival rate were statistically analyzed.

Objective: This article aims to discuss a novel surgical strategy, referred to as unilateral bi/multi-portal endoscopy (UME), which used a uniaxial spinal endoscope instead of an arthroscope in the traditional unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) surgical procedure in our study of the treatment of complicated lumbar degenerative diseases.

Methods: This retrospective study included 42 patients diagnosed with high-migrated lumbar disc herniation and bilateral spinal stenosis who underwent UME surgery from January 2021 to December 2021. Patients included 20 men and 22 women, with an average age of 55.
