This paper focuses on defining a framework to allow individual patients to track their own health related data. We propose a Patient Centered Information Framework (PCIF) allowing patient to manage their own data by using discharge letters. Discharge letters summarize information from a hospital stay, such as medical history, diagnoses, treatments and follow up, needed for continuity of care.

Investigating the natural ageing process typically involves the use of extensive longitudinal datasets that can capture changes associated with the progression of ageing. However, they are often resource-intensive and time-consuming to conduct. Cross-sectional data, on the other hand, provides a snapshot of a population at many different ages and can capture many disease processes but do not incorporate the time dimension.

The Prediabetes impacts one in every three individuals, with a 10% annual probability of transitioning to type 2 diabetes without lifestyle changes or medical interventions. It's crucial to manage glycemic health to deter the progression to type 2 diabetes. In the United States, 13% of individuals (18 years of age and older) have diabetes, while 34.

Background And Aim: Understanding the prevalence and impact of SARS-CoV-2 variants has assumed paramount importance. This study statistically analyzed to effectively track the emergence and spread of the variants and highlights the importance of such investigations in developing potential next-gen vaccine to combat the continuously emerging Omicron subvariants.

Methods: Transmission fitness advantage and effective reproductive number ( ) of epidemiologically relevant SARS-CoV-2 sublineages through time during the study period based on the GISAID data were estimated.

Dual-Frequency Linear-to-Circular Polarization Converter for Ka-Band Applications.

Sensors (Basel)

March 2022

Millimeter-Wave Antennas and Integrated Circuits Laboratory (MAIC), DIMES University of Calabria, 87036 Arcavacata, Italy.

A dual-band linear-to-circular planar polarization converter based on a multilayer printed circuit board (PCB) is proposed and demonstrated. Each cell of the periodic surface is formed by six substrate layers separated by five foam spacers. The three top layers are identical and contain an 'I'-type strip, while the three layers on the bottom side are realized with three identical Jerusalem crosses (JC).

Background: The reduction and control over neonatal, infant, and maternal mortality is a collective mission of the World Health Organization under United Nations.

Methods: This article summarizes the automation of verbal autopsy reporting for neonatal, infant, and maternal mortality with primary focus on user-centered design for technologically illiterate workforce with minimum available resources. The diminution in neonatal, infant, and maternal deaths is not possible until grassroot level quality data are available for mortality.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a system for digital telecardiology on mobile devices called Remote Cardio Consultation (RCC). Using RCC may improve first intervention procedures in case of heart attack. In fact, it allows physicians to remotely consult ECG signals from a mobile device or smartphone by using a so-called app.
