November 2024

Department of Chemistry, D.D.U. Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, U. P. 273009, India. Electronic address:

A novel fungal diglycosidase that transforms naringin into naringenin and neohesperidose, a rare biotransformation, has been purified to homogeneity using a simple procedure involving precipitation of the enzyme from the culture filtrate of the fungal strain using 80 % saturation of ammonium sulphate, dissolving the precipitate in minimum volume of the buffer and dialysing that against the buffer. The purified enzyme gives single protein bands of molecular mass 64.6 kDa in SDS-PAGE analysis.

Papaya leaf curl disease (PaLCD) was primarily detected in India and causes major economic damage to agriculture crops grown globally, seriously threatening food security. Begomoviruses are communicated by the vector , and their transmission efficiency and persistence in the vector are the highest, exhibiting the widest host range due to adaptation and evolution. Symptoms induced during PaLCD include leaf curl, leaf yellowing, interveinal chlorosis, and reduced fruit quality and yield.

The most significant issues that humans face today include a growing population, an altering climate, an growing reliance on pesticides, the appearance of novel infectious agents, and an accumulation of industrial waste. The production of agricultural goods has also been subject to a great number of significant shifts, often known as agricultural revolutions, which have been influenced by the progression of civilization, technology, and general human advancement. Sustainable measures that can be applied in agriculture, the environment, medicine, and industry are needed to lessen the harmful effects of the aforementioned problems.

The development of precise and controlled CRISPR-Cas tools has been made possible by the discovery of protein inhibitors of CRISPR-Cas systems, called anti-CRISPRs (Acrs). The Acr protein has the ability to control off-targeted mutations and impede Cas protein-editing operations. Acr can help with selective breeding, which could help plants and animals improve their valuable features.

This study is the first to demonstrate that deep ocean water (DOW) has physiological significant effects on squid. After 36 h of rearing squids, those reared with DOW had significantly higher total and free cholesterol levels and lower alanine transaminase activity in hemolymph as compared with those reared with surface sea water (SSW). SSW rearing also resulted in 6.

The present study examined the equivalent black carbon (eBC) mass concentrations measured over 10.5 years (September 2005-March 2016) using a 7-wavelength Aethalometer (AE-31) at Mukteshwar, a high-altitude and regional background site in the foothills of Indian central Himalayas. The total spectral absorption coefficient (b) was divided into three categories: black carbon (BC) and brown carbon (BrC); fossil fuels (FF) and wood/biomass burning (WB/BB); and primary and secondary sources.

In the present time of speedy developments and industrialization, heavy metals are being uncovered in aquatic environment and soil via refining, electroplating, processing, mining, metallurgical activities, dyeing and other several metallic and metal based industrial and synthetic activities. Heavy metals like lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), Zinc (Zn), Cobalt (Co), Iron (Fe), and many other are considered as seriously noxious and toxic for the aquatic environment, human, and other aquatic lives and have damaging influences. Such heavy metals, which are very tough to be degraded, can be managed by reducing their potential through various processes like removal, precipitation, oxidation-reduction, bio-sorption, recovery, bioaccumulation, bio-mineralization etc.

In this report, we have introduced magnetic ordering into the nontrivial system of conventional topological insulators (TIs) by creating magnetic interfaces. In this context, antimony di-chalcogenide SbTe sandwiched between two thin layers of FeSe was prepared using the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique. The prepared heterostructure demonstrated good crystallinity along with homogeneous morphology displaying pyramid-shaped characteristic triangular islands.

The genus represents a group of multipartite viruses that significantly damage many agricultural crops, including papaya, and influence overall production. Papaya leaf curl disease (PaLCD) caused by the complex begomovirus species has several important implications and substantial losses in papaya production in many developing countries, including India. The increase in the number of begomovirus species poses a continuous threat to the overall production of papaya.

Chilli leaf curl virus (ChiLCV), (Genus , family ) and associated satellites pose a serious threat to chilli production, worldwide. This study highlights the factors accountable for genetic diversity, recombination, and evolution of ChiLCV, and associated chilli leaf curl alphasatellite (ChiLCA) and chilli leaf curl betasatellite (ChiLCB). Phylogenetic analysis of complete genome (DNA-A) sequences of 132 ChiLCV isolates from five countries downloaded from NCBI database clustered into three major clades and showed high population diversity.

Low Level Radioactivity Laboratory, Institute of Nature and Environmental Technology, Kanazawa University, Nomi city, Ishikawa 923-1224, Japan.

To study the toxicity of 3-hydroxybenzo[c]phenanthrene (3-OHBcP), a metabolite of benzo[c]phenanthrene (BcP), first we compared it with its parent compound, BcP, using an in ovo-nanoinjection method in Japanese medaka. Second, we examined the influence of 3-OHBcP on bone metabolism using goldfish. Third, the detailed mechanism of 3-OHBcP on bone metabolism was investigated using zebrafish and goldfish.

The magneto-transport, magnetization and theoretical electronic-structure have been investigated on type-II Weyl semimetallic MoTeP. The ferromagnetic ordering is observed in the studied sample and it has been shown that the observed magnetic ordering is due to the defect states. It has also been demonstrated that the presence of ferromagnetic ordering in effect suppresses the magnetoresistance (MR) significantly.

Beijing National Laboratory for Condensed Matter Physics, Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences Beijing 100190 China

We evaluate the influence of pressure on the thermoelectric power factors PF ≡ of pristine and Na-doped SnSe crystals by measuring their electrical conductivity () and Seebeck coefficient () up to ∼22 kbar with a self-clamped piston-cylinder cell. For both cases, () is enhanced while () reduced with increasing pressure as expected, but their imbalanced variations lead to a monotonic enhancement of PF under pressure. For pristine SnSe, (290 K) increases by ∼4 times from ∼10.
