This prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled study assessed the effects of Ashwagandha root extract (ARE) on cognition, energy, and mood in adults with self-reported cognitive and energy problems. Healthy subjects aged 30-75 years were randomized to receive ashwagandha () root extract (ARE) 600 mg/day ( = 60)/identical placebo ( = 60) orally for 8 weeks. Cognitive function was assessed at baseline and week 8 using a Computerized Mental Performance Assessment System (COMPASS).

A Cross-Sectional Study of Cardiovascular Autonomic Reactivity in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Background: Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) may be linked to dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system, affecting collagen production and processing. These collagen abnormalities lead to a condition called dysautonomia. Findings underscore the need for further investigation into autonomic nervous system function in EDS which involves larger studies to strengthen the evidence of non-invasive screening tools like cardiovascular reflex tests.

Medical Thoracoscopy (MT) is commonly performed by respiratory physicians for diagnostic as well as therapeutic purposes. The aim of the study was to provide evidence-based information regarding all aspects of MT, both as a diagnostic tool and therapeutic aid for pulmonologists across India. Bilateral Secondary Femorocele in a Case of Ascites Due to Cardiac Cirrhosis Following Dual Valvular Replacement for Rheumatic Heart Disease.

Background: Fluid collection in a femoral hernia sac designated as a femorocele is an extremely uncommon surgical condition. Till date 9 cases of unilateral femorocele and one case of bilateral femorocele have been reported in English literature.

Ninety-day repeated dose toxicity of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract in Wistar rats.

Many pharmacological studies have been carried out to describe multiple biological properties of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) and the additional safety information on repeated dose toxicity is limited. Therefore, the aim of this study was to obtain safety data for KSM-66 Ashwagandha Root Extract (ARE) through repeated-dose toxicity in Wistar rats according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) test guideline (TG 408). ARE was orally administered to rats at doses of 0, 500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg body weight/day for 90-day and reversibility of effects of 0 and 2000 mg/kg body weight/day was assessed for 14 days.

Morel-Lavallée Lesion: Uncommon Injury often Missed.

Introduction: Morel-Lavalleé lesion is an uncommon closed degloving injury usually affecting the lower extremity. Although these lesions have been documented in literature, yet there is no standard treatment algorithm for the same. A case of Morel-Lavallée lesion following blunt injury to the thigh is therefore presented to highlight the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in managing such lesions.

Sustained response on sequential anti-FGFR therapy in metastatic gall bladder cancer: a case report and literature review.

Purpose: Advanced gall bladder cancer (GBC) is an aggressive disease, and there is no consensus on treatment options beyond first-line chemotherapy. We report a case of an elderly male with FGFR2-altered advanced adenocarcinoma of the gallbladder who failed two prior lines of chemotherapy but had sustained response and stable disease on sequential FGFR-directed targeted therapy.

Design: We describe a case of FGFR2-altered metastatic adenocarcinoma of the gallbladder who failed two prior lines of chemotherapy.

Background: Traumatic lumbar hernia is due to shearing of bony insertions of the muscle in the lumbar region. In recurrent cases, there is more attenuation of muscles. This makes fixation of the mesh extremely difficult.

An Observational Study on the Effect of Yoga and Sudarshan Kriya in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients.

Introduction One of the major health problems in many countries including India is type 2 diabetes. Yoga is being explored as an alternative therapy for the management of diabetes. Methods Among the total of 137 participants who successfully completed the 'Living Well' workshop by the Art of Living, 84 with type 2 diabetes were assessed for change in random blood sugar levels, systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels (SBP/DBP), and pulse rate over seven days.

Upper Cervical Leiomyoma in an Adolescent Male.

Introduction: Leiomyomas are benign epithelial tumors with a female preponderance usually in the uterus, gastro-intestinal tract and skin. They are well-capsulated tumors with no mitotic activity and little pleomorphism. Primary leiomyoma in the upper cervical spine region is rare and the occurrence of these lesions in young immunocompetent males is extremely rare.

Aggressive Vertebral Hemangioma Causing Recurring Myelopathy -A Rare Case Report and Review of Literature.

Introduction: Vertebral hemangiomas although benign vascular lesions few of these may be ag-gressive causing osseous, extra-osseous and/or epidural expansions with recurrence rate as low as 3%. Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) can present in different ways and should be regarded as one of the possible diagnoses of several bony, cutaneous, and neurological pathologies.

Case Report: We present a case report of a 13-year-old female, who presented with swelling of the left index finger, then diagnosed to have Pulmonary and extra-pulmonary TB (Spina Ventosa, Lichen scrofulosorum, cervical lymphadenitis, mediastinal lymphadenopathy, and a frontal lobe Tuberculoma). We further discuss its features and management.

Occupational exposures to bloodborne pathogens and its underreporting in dental teaching environment in an Indian dental school.

Introduction: The aims of this study were 1) to find out the prevalence of occupational exposures to contaminated biological material among undergraduate students and interns; 2) to find out how many cases of occupational exposures to bloodborne pathogens are reported; and 3) to know the reasons for non-reporting of occupational exposures.

Materials And Methods: The study was conducted in a Dental School in Navi-Mumbai, India. An anonymous self-administered questionnaire was formulated.
