Low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LG-ESS) can present diagnostic challenges, due to its overlapping morphological features with other uterine mesenchymal tumors. Misdiagnosis rates remain significant, and immunohistochemical data for LG-ESS are limited to small series and inconsistent antibody panels. This study aimed to refine the IHC profile of LG-ESS by analyzing a large, molecularly confirmed series of 147 cases using a panel of 24 antibodies, including newer markers like transgelin and smoothelin.

DNA nanostructures (DNs) have gained popularity in various biomedical applications due to their unique properties, including structural programmability, ease of synthesis and functionalization, and low cytotoxicity. Effective utilization of DNs in biomedical applications requires a fundamental understanding of their interactions with living cells and the mechanics of cellular uptake. Current knowledge primarily focuses on how the physicochemical properties of DNs, such as mass, shape, size, and surface functionalization, affect uptake efficacy.

Evaluation of urine protein to creatinine ratio in sighthound breeds.

The breed can influence the results of haematological and biochemical blood tests, with sighthounds traditionally mentioned. It may also affect certain urinary parameters. This study aimed to compare urinary protein and creatinine concentrations and their ratio (UPC, urine protein to creatinine ratio) between sighthounds and non-sighthounds and to evaluate these parameters in various sighthound breeds.

BioHastalex modified with silver nanolayers and heat treatment for antibacterial properties.

Here, we present surface analysis and biocompatibility evaluation of novel composite material based on graphene oxide traded as BioHastalex. The pristine material's surface morphology and surface chemistry were examined by various analytical methods. The BioHastalex with a thin silver layer was subsequently heat treated and characterized, the impact on the material surface wettability and morphology was evaluated.

Work-related well-being in early career: A role of self-compassion.

Several studies have demonstrated the positive effects of mindfulness and self-compassion on employee well-being, mental health, and resilience. The objective of this observational study was to explore the mutual relationships among the dimensions of self-compassion and particular characteristics of work-related well-being: work engagement, workaholism (excessive and compulsive work), and job boredom in a population of early career workers. In this quantitative cross-sectional study, 286 master's students with proper working experience were examined; results from 244 respondents were suitable for further data analysis.

Exit Interviews Exploring Patients' Experience of Change in Crohn's Disease Symptoms During the Mirikizumab Phase 3 Clinical Trial In Adult Patients With Moderately-to-Severely Crohn's Disease.

Background: Exit interviews with patients who completed the Phase 3 VIVID-1 mirikizumab clinical trial for moderately-to-severely active Crohn's disease explored the content validity of bowel urgency, stool frequency, and abdominal pain patient-reported outcome measures and perceptions of meaningful within-patient change and remission in these key Crohn's disease symptoms.

Methodology: Cognitive debriefing explored patient understanding of the bowel urgency numeric rating scale (Urgency NRS), Crohn's Disease Activity Index: Stool Frequency (CDAI-SF) and Abdominal Pain (CDAI-AP), and patient global rating/impression of severity/change (PGRS/PGIC). Perceptions of meaningful change and remission were explored qualitatively.

Purpose: Corneal dysmorphologies (CDs) are typically classified as either regressive degenerative corneal dystrophies (CDtrs) or defective growth and differentiation-driven corneal dysplasias (CDyps). Both eye disorders have multifactorial etiologies. While previous work has elucidated many aspects of CDs, such as presenting symptoms, epidemiology, and pathophysiology, the genetic mechanisms remain incompletely understood.

The Arteriovenous Access Stage (AVAS) classification simplifies information about suitability of vessels for vascular access (VA). It's been previously validated in a clinical study. Here, AVAS performance was tested against multiple ultrasound mapping measurements using machine learning.

Predictors of evacuation behavior: dataset on respondents' route choice and web interaction.

Empirical data on human evacuation behavior are invaluable for adjusting and training computational algorithms that simulate evacuation processes, including agent-based modeling. We provide a dataset on human decision-making during evacuations from virtual buildings, captured using experimental methods that controlled specific building layout parameters. An online experiment assigned participants a random subset of tasks featuring T-intersections.

Perceptions of science, science communication, and climate change attitudes in 68 countries - the TISP dataset.

Science is integral to society because it can inform individual, government, corporate, and civil society decision-making on issues such as public health, new technologies or climate change. Yet, public distrust and populist sentiment challenge the relationship between science and society. To help researchers analyse the science-society nexus across different geographical and cultural contexts, we undertook a cross-sectional population survey resulting in a dataset of 71,922 participants in 68 countries.

A customizable multiplex protein microarray for antibody testing and its application for tick-borne and other infectious diseases.

Tick-borne infections are the most common vector-borne diseases in the USA. Ticks harbor and transmit several infections with Lyme disease being the most common tickborne infection in the US and Europe. Lack of awareness about tick populations, specific diagnostic tests, and overlapping signs and symptoms of tick-borne infections can often lead to misdiagnosis affecting treatment and the prevalence data reported especially for non-Lyme tick-borne infections.

Elevated serum neurofilament light chain levels in patients with neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus: a cross-sectional study.

Background: The neurofilament light chain (NfL) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum as a marker of neuronal damage may be a potential biomarker of neuropsychiatric involvement in SLE (NPSLE).

Methods: 80 patients with SLE were included.We obtained paired serum and CSF samples from 48 patients (NPSLE n=32, non-NPSLE n=16) and 31 controls.

Plasma transfusions in neonatal intensive care units: a prospective observational study.

Objective: Despite lack of evidence supporting efficacy, prophylactic fresh frozen plasma and Octaplas transfusions may be administered to very preterm infants to reduce bleeding risk. The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor, which plays numerous and pivotal roles in human physiology and pathophysiology. Therefore, pharmacotherapeutic targeting of the AhR is a highly pertinent issue. The identification of new AhR ligands and the characterization of the interactions between the AhR ligands and AhR protein requires appropriate methodology.
