Impact of Online Interactive Decision Tools on Women's Decision-Making Regarding Breast Cancer Screening: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Background: The online nature of decision aids (DAs) and related e-tools supporting women's decision-making regarding breast cancer screening (BCS) through mammography may facilitate broader access, making them a valuable addition to BCS programs.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the scientific evidence on the impacts of these e-tools and to provide a comprehensive assessment of the factors associated with their increased utility and efficacy.

Methods: We followed the 2020 PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines and conducted a search of MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Embase, CINAHL, and Web of Science databases from August 2010 to April 2023.

Precise Measurement of the e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} Cross Section at Center-of-Mass Energies from Threshold to 4.95 GeV.

Using the e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, at center-of-mass energies from the threshold to 4.95 GeV, we present precise measurements of the cross section for the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} using a single-tag method. The resulting cross section line shape exhibits several new structures, thereby offering an input for a future coupled-channel analysis and model tests, which are critical to understand vector charmonium-like states with masses between 4 and 5 GeV.

Joint TITE-CRM: A Design for Dose Finding Studies for Therapies with Late-Onset Safety and Activity Outcomes.

In Phase I/II dose-finding trials, the objective is to find the Optimal Biological Dose (OBD), a dose that is both safe and shows sufficient activity that maximizes some optimality criterion based on safety and activity. In cancer, treatment is typically given over several cycles, complicating the identification of the OBD as both toxicity and activity outcomes may occur at any point throughout the follow up of multiple cycles. In this work we present and assess the Joint TITE-CRM, a model-based design for late onset toxicities and activity based on the well-known TITE-CRM.

Naxos disease is a rare autosomal recessive condition combining arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, woolly hair, and palmoplantar keratoderma. CompSafeNano project: NanoInformatics approaches for safe-by-design nanomaterials.

The CompSafeNano project, a Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) project funded under the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, aims to advance the safety and innovation potential of nanomaterials (NMs) by integrating cutting-edge nanoinformatics, computational modelling, and predictive toxicology to enable design of safer NMs at the earliest stage of materials development. The project leverages Safe-by-Design (SbD) principles to ensure the development of inherently safer NMs, enhancing both regulatory compliance and international collaboration. This work presents an investigation of the influence of poly(-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) polymer on the structural dynamics of intrinsically disordered alpha-synuclein (α-syn) protein, exploring the formation and intricate features of the resulting α-syn/PNIPAM complexes. Using atomistic molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, our study analyzes the impact of initial configuration, polymer molecular weight, and protein mutations on the α-syn and the α-syn/PNIPAM complex. Atomistic simulations, of a few μs, of the protein/polymer complex reveal crucial insights into molecular interactions within the complex, emphasizing a delicate balance of forces governing its stability and structural evolution.

Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) Versus Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) in Elderly Patients: Insights Into Recovery, Complications, and Risk Factors.

Background: We compared the safety and efficacy of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) and transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in elderly men (aged ≥75 years) with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 151 patients (HoLEP: 72; TURP: 79) was conducted. Preoperative and postoperative parameters, including prostate size, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), catheterization duration, hospital stay, and perioperative complications (incontinence and dysuria), were analyzed.
