Presenting unpaired unconditional stimuli (US) during extinction training reduces the renewal of conditional fear due to context change. The present study investigated whether this reduced return of fear is specific to the aversive US presented during acquisition or can also be observed after extinction with unpaired presentations of another aversive or of a non-aversive US. Using an ABA renewal paradigm that trained extinction in a context different from that of the acquisition, renewal and re-acquisition test phases, participants received five unpaired presentations of either the aversive US used during acquisition (Group Aversive-Same), an aversive US not presented during acquisition (Group Aversive-Different) or a non-aversive US (Group Non-aversive) during extinction training.

Citizen science is a community-based participatory research approach with an emphasis on addressing health disparities that is increasingly advocated by the community, researchers, and research funders. Digitally enabled methods can extend the potential of citizen science by enabling citizens to engage in real-time research processes, such as data collection, information sharing, interpreting, acting on data, and informing decision-making. However, the power of any citizen science lies in promoting health equity by providing equal opportunity for citizen engagement.

We study the monetary value and the relative importance of several program characteristics for an evidence-based intervention provided at home for people living with dementia and their carers in Australia. Using a discrete choice experiment, advised through an expert and consumer co-design approach, we consider the total number of sessions, the delivery mode, the primary outcome and focus of the program as well as its costs as attributes. Results from a representative sample of the Australian adult population show a high willingness to pay for the program overall, even greater than the actual costs.
