This study aimed to detect the presence of bovine papillomavirus (BPV) in the testicular tissue of bulls over 1-year old by immunohistochemical, immunofluorescence and molecular assay targeting methods. In addition, γH2AX and cytochrome c expressions were evaluated by immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent methods in samples positive for BPV agent. In this study, 100 testicular specimens that did not show any macroscopic papilloma findings were collected.

Novel antimicrobial defensin peptides from different coleopteran insects (Coleoptera: Insecta): identification, characterisation and antimicrobial properties.

Antimicrobial peptides are crucial components of the immune systems of both vertebrates and invertebrates. Here, defensins, the most studied class of antimicrobial molecules in arthropods were investigated in four coleopteran insect species: (DeGeer, 1774), (Linnaeus, 1767), (Linnaeus, 1758), and (Brullé, 1832). The peptides synthesized with over 95% purity and their antimicrobial activities were evaluated by MIC test method.

Do patients with severe acne vulgaris prefer the evening chronotype more? A case-control study.

This study aimed to investigate sleep quality, chronotype preferences, anxiety, and depression levels in patients diagnosed with acne vulgaris and compare them with healthy controls. This cross-sectional case-control study included 92 patients with acne vulgaris and 59 age- and sex-matched healthy controls. Acne severity was assessed using the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS); sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI); chronotype preferences using the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ); and anxiety and depression levels using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI).

Effects of meloxicam and flunixin meglumine on oxidative stress and pregnancy factors in Awassi sheep.

The present study aimed to unveil the gastroprotective potential of Vaccinium macrocarpon (VM) extract and its mechanism of action against indomethacin (INDO)-induced gastric ulcers in rats. To achieve this goal, rats were pretreated with either omeprazole (20 mg/kg) or VM (100 mg/kg) orally for 14 consecutive days. Gastric tissue samples were collected and various parameters were evaluated to understand the mechanism of VM's action, including the levels of superoxide dismutase, malondialdehyde, glutathione, CAT and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), as well as the mRNA expression levels of tumour necrosis factor alpha, interleukin 1 beta, nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and inhibitor kappa B (IκB).

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in women. Although the important role of metabolism in the molecular pathogenesis of BC is known, there is still a need for robust metabolomic biomarkers and predictive models that will enable the detection and prognosis of BC. This study aims to identify targeted metabolomic biomarker candidates based on explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) for the specific detection of BC.

This study aimed to determine the growth rates and drug susceptibility levels of patients with complex (MTC) growth in cultures obtained and to compare the results with the growth rates and drug susceptibility levels found in our country and other countries. It also aimed to evaluate the results of supplementing classical methods such as Lowenstein-Jensen (LJ) with liquid TK MEDIUM and to determine the relationship between the growth rates obtained with both methods.
