Introduction: Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are usually considered the highest level of evidence for clinical practice. Patients assigned to control arm in RCTs should always receive the best available treatments to protect participants while also allowing for proper interpretation and applicability of study results. Here we analysed RCTs published in oncology between 2017 and 2021 to describe the frequency of suboptimal control arms.

Introduction: B-cell-depleting agents have been widely used for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) and MOG-associated diseases (MOGAD), but no consensus exists on the optimal dose and frequency of treatment administration. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of a Rituximab (RTX) personalized treatment approach based on CD27-positive B-cell monitoring on efficacy, safety, and infusion rates.
Methods: This is a retrospective, uncontrolled, single-center study including patients with NMOSD and MOGAD treated with RTX at a tertiary multiple sclerosis center at the San Luigi University Hospital, Orbassano, Italy.

Background: In patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of the culprit lesion significantly reduces the risk of cardiovascular death. However, the management of non-culprit lesions in patients with the multivessel disease remains a matter of debate in this setting. It's still unclear if a morphological OCT-guided approach, identifying coronary plaque instability, may provide a more specific treatment compared with a standard angiographic/functional approach.
