The relationship between access to peer support programs and quality of life among people living with HIV in Australia.

Peer support services for people living with HIV (PLHIV) serve varying functions and are a unique resource for support. Peer support programs are considered an important strategy for achieving better quality of life (QoL) for PLHIV and there has been substantial investment in provision of such programs. The present study asks whether being connected to other PLHIV is associated with better QoL for PLHIV in Australia and; whether involvement in formal peer support programs is associated with QoL among people newly diagnosed with HIV.

The development and implementation of an innovative community-based intervention to strengthen community capacity for HIV prevention and care among Canadians of African Caribbean and Black (ACB) women in Ontario: a research protocol.

African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) women are overrepresented among new HIV diagnoses due to social and structural factors. This study seeks to create, implement, and evaluate a community-based peer-led intervention to improve access to HIV prevention and care for ACB women in Canada. This multisite, five-year project, using community-based participatory research, implementation science and evaluation frameworks, will be implemented in five non-iterative phases.

Therefore, this study aimed to conduct a nationwide evaluation of the second and third goals of the "90-90-90 target" defined by UNAIDS between 2016 and 2020. The study utilized data from approximately 360 core hospitals through structured questionnaires and the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups (NDB).

Background: Type A aortic dissection (TAAD) remains a significant challenge in cardiac surgery, presenting high risks of adverse outcomes such as permanent neurological dysfunction and mortality despite advances in medical technology and surgical techniques. People with low incomes, however, may face insurance-related barriers to obtaining dental care. Background: Plasma exchange (PE) removes high-molecular-weight substances and is sometimes used for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) with alveolar hemorrhage. Hypotension during PE is rare, except in allergic cases. We report a case of shock likely caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) during PE.

Individual and system-level determinants of caregivers' quality of life among inner-city preschool children with asthma.

Caregivers of children with asthma can become overwhelmed by the burden of care provision. Guided by the socioecological framework, we examined individual and system-level factors associated with caregiver health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among preschool children (aged two to six years) enrolled in a multilevel home- and school-based asthma educational intervention in Baltimore, Maryland.
