Background And Aim: Vitamin K deficiency is common in persons with kidney disease, which is a known complication of diabetes. We aimed to assess the association of vitamin K status as reflected by plasma dephosphorylated-uncarboxylated matrix Gla protein (dp-ucMGP) with mortality, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and progression to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) in persons with type 1 diabetes.
Materials And Methods: We analysed plasma dp-ucMGP in stored baseline samples from a cohort of 667 persons with type 1 diabetes (baseline visit: 2009-2011).

Background: The long-term recovery (in years) of patellar tendinopathy treated with loading-based rehabilitation remains largely unknown.
Purpose: To examine the clinical outcome and tendon structure years after exercise-based treatment of chronic patellar tendinopathy.
Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence, 4.

Background: High pain levels immediately after surgery have been associated with persistent postsurgical pain. Still, it is uncertain if analgesic treatment of immediate postsurgical pain prevents the development of persistent postsurgical pain.
Methods: We searched MEDLINE, CENTRAL, and Embase up to September 12, 2023, for randomized controlled trials investigating perioperative analgesic interventions and with reported pain levels 3 to 24 months after total hip or knee arthroplasty in patients with osteoarthritis.

Background: Evidence of incidence of functional somatic disorders (FSD) is hampered by unclear delimitations of the conditions and little is known about the possible interchangeability between syndromes. Further, knowledge on remission and persistence of FSD in the general population is limited. We aimed to assess the natural course of various FSD over 5 years in the general population.

Aim: The aim was to evaluate the role of insufficient use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in SARS-CoV-2 transmission risk for healthcare workers (HCW) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Prospective study within the COBRA cohort, including 15,127 HCW. Daily assessment of insufficient use of PPE, defined as self-reported PPE failure or noncompliance, in relation to SARS-CoV-2 infection ascertained by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

Background: Medication reviews (MRs) are a well-described initiative that improves health outcomes for polypharmacy patients. However, there is limited knowledge about the performance of medication reviews carried out in general practice especially under the leadership of hospital clinical pharmacists. When developing complex interventions, such as MRs, it is essential to describe the development process to ensure transparency and avoid research waste.

Objective: This study investigated the effectiveness of supramaximal high-intensity interval training (supramaximal HIT) on muscle capacities and physical function compared to moderate-intensity training (MIT) for older adults.
Methods: Sixty-eight older adults (66-79 years, 56% women), not engaged in regular exercise, were randomised to 3 months of twice-weekly supramaximal HIT (20 minutes including 10 × 6-second intervals) or MIT (40 minutes including 3 × 8-minute intervals). Both groups performed the training on stationary bicycles in a group setting.

Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a common inherited cardiac disease, and clinical and genetic family screening is recommended by guidelines.
Objectives: This study sought to investigate the diagnostic yield of screening relatives of HCM patients and identify predictive factors for HCM development during long-term follow-up in relatives from gene-elusive families.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of families screened at clinics for inherited cardiomyopathies in Eastern Denmark, from 2006 to 2023.

Background: Plasma levels of D-dimer are elevated in patients with thromboembolisms. Here we investigated the existence of interfering antibodies as a potential cause for elevated D-dimer levels.
Case Presentation: A 42-year-old white Caucasian woman with a prior history of pulmonary embolism during her first pregnancy (treated with heparin therapy for 6 weeks postnatally) and hypothyroidism had a persistent elevated D-dimer without any clinical or ultrasound-based signs of thromboembolic conditions during her second pregnancy.
