Transition of Online Adaptive Stereotactic Radiotherapy for Pancreatic Cancer From Magnetic Resonance-Guided Linear Accelerator (MR-Linac) to State-of-the-Art Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most challenging tumor sites to treat safely and effectively with radiotherapy due to the anatomical location and aggressiveness of the disease. One modality that has shown promising results, which our institution has been employing, is online adaptive stereotactic radiotherapy using a magnetic resonance-guided linear accelerator (MR-linac). However, due to unforeseen circumstances regarding our MR-linac, it was necessary for our institution to use an alternative treatment technique.

Ongoing Opioid Treatment and Symptoms of Myocardial Infarction in Calls to the Emergency Medical Services.

Background: Ongoing opioid treatment can potentially modify symptoms of myocardial infarction (MI) and cause a lack of recognition and treatment delay.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine MI symptoms and the time to hospitalization for patients in ongoing opioid treatment compared to patients without ongoing opioid treatment.

Methods: We evaluated calls to the Copenhagen Emergency Medical Services in Denmark from 2014 to 2018.

Complications following biopsy of an intraabdominal or retroperitoneal mass compared with a renal mass.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess the short-term complication rate after US-guided core needle biopsies with an 18-gauge needle of retroperitoneal or intraabdominal masses (non-kidney group) compared with complications after biopsy from a renal mass (kidney group).

Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of 330 consecutive patients in the non-kidney group and 330 control patients in the kidney group. We recorded baseline characteristics, diagnostic yield, complications graded as Clavien-Dindo (CD) and readmissions within one and seven days.

We examined the added value of perineal swabs in addition to nose and throat swabs when screening for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus colonization, and risk factors for perineal carriage in 6,642 patients. In our mainly primary care setting, the added value was 9.3%.

Background And Purpose: Daily target re-delineation in online adaptive radiotherapy (oART) introduces uncertainty. The aim of this study was to evaluate artificial intelligence (AI) generated contours and inter-observer target variation among radiotherapy technicians in cone-beam CT (CBCT) guided oART of bladder cancer.

Materials And Methods: For each of 10 consecutive patients treated with oART for bladder cancer, one CBCT was randomly selected and retrospectively included.

The diagnostic accuracy of handheld ultrasound (HHUS) devices operated by newly certified operators for pneumonia is unknown. This multicenter diagnostic accuracy study included patients prospectively suspected of pneumonia from February 2021 to February 2022 in four emergency departments. The index test was a 14-zone focused lung ultrasound (FLUS) examination, with consolidation with air bronchograms as diagnostic criteria for pneumonia.

Background: Cardiac troponin (cTn) is key in diagnosing myocardial infarction (MI). After MI, the clinically observed half-life of cTn has been reported to be 7 to 20 hours, but this estimate reflects the combined elimination and simultaneous release of cTn from cardiomyocytes. More precise timing of myocardial injuries necessitates separation of these 2 components.

Impact of surgical strategy and postrepair transverse aortic arch size on late hypertension after coarctation repair during infancy.

Background: Late hypertension (HTN) after coarctation of the aorta (CoA) repair contributes to higher morbidity and mortality. An association between transverse aortic arch (TAA) hypoplasia and HTN has been found, but its relationship with surgical strategy is unclear. We studied the association between late HTN and initial surgical strategy pertaining to the TAA.
